I run this every now and again so I'm only on about 16 completed tasks, but it only shows 12. It stopped updating a while a go, possibly when the software was last updated, anyone else found this?

I'm on my 2nd WU, (only had the system for a week lol) I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary since upgrading my FW, I will see what happens when I get done with my 2nd unit.

No difference here after upgrading to 2.36. Still 10 seconds.

If you take longer than 5 days for smaller WU's the WU will be reassigned and you do not get the credit... for larger WU's you are given a longer period of time (sorry the exact timeframe currently slips my mind).

If you want to avoid the huge work units that take like 36 hours of constant folding, just don't set the operating mode to Advanced. That makes it less likely that you will be assigned the larger units. Not sure if it prevents it completely though. edit: Also, don't forget to join Team 56895 ![]() Last edited by AlaskaDon; 06-22-2008 at 11:15 AM. |

Hey guys, I left my Folding @ Home program running last night and when I checked it this morning, the background screen is black even though the numbers are still there along with the working program. I tried turning on/off the PS3 and restarting the program and I am still having the same problems. What is going on here?

![]() http://www.playstation.com/life/en/index.html ![]() Start your “Life with PlayStation” + Posted by Noam Rimon // Sr. Development Manager SCEA R&D If you’ve ever wished you could find everything you need to start your day on your PLAYSTATION 3, Life with PlayStation gives you one more reason to do so. This free service delivers a new way for you to utilize your PS3 to instantly access real-time news and information like weather updates from over 60 cities around the world. Life with PlayStation provides a stunning interactive globe, a 3D world map that you can twirl around to see live cloud movement courtesy of the University of Wisconsin, combined with up-to-date weather information from the Weather Channel, top news headlines provided by Google news, and live web cam images via the Earth Television Network — all localized to the select city. And why not have your favorite soundtrack playing in the background while you go through your morning ritual (just think, no TV commercials and teasers to find out if you need to bring an umbrella to work)? You’re on your own for your morning caffeine fix. For those following the progress of Hurricane Ike throughout last week, we were able to track the storm’s real-time movement from Life with PlayStation. (See the screenshots below) We’re also really excited to share that this new lifestyle service is running in parallel with our Folding@home project. Essentially, this means that while you’re taking a stroll on Life with PlayStation, you’re automatically helping Stanford University to work towards curing diseases such as Alzheimer’s and various types of cancers. For those familiar with Folding@home, we’ve made some enhancements for more advanced simulations of protein folding and support for wider variety of simulations, in addition to adding a unique ranking system showcasing top contributors from around the world. I’ve also put together a quick video demo to make sure you’re checking out all the new features here: [ VIDEO LINK ] Life with PlayStation is now available for download by selecting the Folding@home icon under “Network” on the XMB. Give it a whirl, we look forward to reading your feedback. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Shin-Ra; 09-18-2008 at 07:13 AM. |

im sure there are some people who are going to yell at me, but anybody else think they need to get of the brand name "Playstation". I mean "Playstation" is so much more than a station of play.
Stations of play appeal to little kids who want to play video games. Older people want to read the news, save teh pplz from teh cancers, watch HD movies and other big people stuff. However, many older people scoff at Playstation as a kiddy toy, and don't realize what they are missing and little kids have no idea how to fully utilize a Playstation and think the Wii is more fun. This spells fail for sony. Just name it some multimedia/internet/news computer name and i think it would sell much better. I know my dad and grandpa would be like, hey that new thing from Sony is pretty cool, but they look at my PS3 as a toy. |

Oooh, pretty...question is, what cities with the news be restricted to...being in a smaller town, I'd like to know what's going on within 100 miles of myself.
Even if not...awesome feature and looking forward to everything that Sony has planned |
