People seem to create their own misery. A lot of the times people are saying something is "delayed", it's because of others making up dates or misinterpreting what others have said.

^^^^ This is where we are getting August from. And it IS a delay. Jack Tretton said and I quote "Life with Playstation will make its way to the Playstation 3 at the end of this month." He didnt say ballpark, my estimation, im hoping he said it will. Just because he didnt give us and exact day, hour, minute, and second doesnt mean its not a delay. He said it WILL be released at the end of this month. Now its August. And if you read the comments below you will see there most certainly was a delay. And from the article it says due to procedural matters Life will make its way in August. It was expected earlier like oh say at the end of July. But got delayed. Its all there for you. Now please let us get back to life with playstation and stop making arguments out of nothing and you are wrong bub.

Actually, that article doesn't say "will". But, I just went back through part 3 of the the conference and he does say the word "will" (9:30 into that section).

Yeah you just proved yourself wrong. You said uptop that jack tretton says it will. Your wrong. It got delayed. Your arguing there is no delay and there is. Now people want it and it didnt come now we have to wait until sometime in august. Well, Mr. Tretton is not a very good speaker. I wouldn't be surprised if he meant to say "end of the year", and people at Sony started to freak out trying to get it released by the end of July just because he said it at E3.

I suppose that life with playstation is not really that new because we already have that for the wii and microsoft could add it to the 360, but no one else other then Sony can come up with Home. I'm more focused on Home right now because life with playstation seems like a borrowed idea from Nintendo. It's nice to see that new services are in the works for the ps3. i agree that sony wasn't the first to implement a news service for their console. but i look at it like this. instead of stealing from nintendo they are taking away stuff that the nintendo has over the ps3. you have motion sensing? we have it. you have news headlines? we have it but in HD! you have avatars called mii? we call ours home. see it's all about making the playstation better than the other 2 consoles because it does what the other 2 do and more! xbox has acievements?? we have trophies. XBOX has a little slide show thing?? we have ingame xmb. the PS3 is beginning to over shadow what the other 2 consoles can't do. it's bringing all 3 into 1.

Umm, I believe that's what my statement above mentions. Yes, I was wrong (a rarity) about there not being a delay for this service/feature. I have no problem admitting that. I'm just wondering what kind of nut job gets upset about a, supposed, 4 week delay?

Plus, people need to beware of the bolded part of my statement above, because a LOT of times people falsely say there is a delay for some products.

I'd say the "Basic" service would be at 99% chance (it's logic talking) Free.
That's the stuff that 90%+ people are interested in (news, weather).
Now what I could see happening would be "extra" stuff that would be on a sub basis, like instant Stock option worldwide following, sports related stuff, that kind of things.

It is also possible that Life will get payed via linking to services. Say you click a country on the world 3D Map and select "I want to travel there", it will show you pics (VR?) of the places, and the possibility to reserve plane tickets and accomodations (link to expedia / hotels.com anyone?).

Yeah right you were wrong its as simple as that. And no one is upset. Just disappointed. And nothing was false about this delay. You are the only one upset here because your misinformed. I personally am looking forward to playstation life but I can wait until next year. Im not dying to have it. But I understand why some are. Sony is trying to make the PS3 the central hub for everything entertainment. They come out with playtv and its not only a gaming system but a tv device, a weather and news hub with playstation life, pictures, music, movies and so on. This is all pretty cool to me. And seriously dont get angry and go around calling people nutjobs because thats flaming. Just because your totally ill-informed and your not into playstation life is no reason to tell anyone else not to be. Deflate your head a little

The only things I like about life with playstation is it one ups the Wii and being able to add videos to youtube while in-game, which I'm guessing means you can make videos of your game and then put them on youtube.
