Once again you blame the gamers, when it essence its Sony's fault. When during the PS2, PS1 days did you get announcements of games 3 years ahead and tons of information, and thats all they would talk about.

I was a hardcore PS2 gamer and the earliest was a year, and it was vague. You didnt learn everything till about 2-3 months till release, now we hear everything a year to 6-8 months ahead, and they build on the momentum from there. They talk about their games WAY too early, and its only hurting the industry.

He's saying that we hear about games too early in their development stages. If announcements weren't made until they were closer to completing the games, there would be fewer delays... Or we wouldn't know about the delays because the game wasn't even announced until the development of the game was nearing completion.

Personally, I don't like knowing about games so early. It's hard for me to stay excited for a year or more about something. When I first hear about a cool game I get really excited, then it goes downhill from there. By the time the game's actually released, I'm not as thrilled as I should be.

I don't think Sony was responsible for FFXIII's announcement, were they? Ultimately, how we react to some announcement of the day by some company of the day is how all this impatience either gets propogated or not. Most of us that were there during the days of waiting for the US version of the PS1 Final Fantasy VII to hit our shores after having played the import version (with no clue on how to read Japanese) have hopefully learned that patience is a great virtue.

This is the same thing with HOME. People rant on and on about the delays, and yet we all forget that HOME and LWP are FREE services from Sony. I think we might have a valid point if this was for a service that we were paying for, if we were paying for it like the 360 folks, but I think I'm willing to cut Sony some slack for something I'm not paying a single penny for. We can fling blame all around but quite frankly, this is what happens when the videogame industry joins the ranks of the movie and music industry as consumer entertainment and the results will always be the same

Since it's free, I guess online shouldn't matter? I mean, I've been trying to connect and play a game with someone online all night but the PSN just doesn't have good matchmaking skills or I keep getting people with connections that shouldn't be playing...but it's free, so there's no need to complain.

This goes beyond 'looking a gift horse in the mouth'. Many people are upset because Sony used to be a company with a plan, a focused agenda. First, it was the delay of the PS3. Components changed, we the consumer don't need 6 USB ports and 2 HDMI inputs (we don't, they were smart to remove it). Then there's Sony's focus on Blu-ray, or games, or online, or multi-media functions.

Killzone is shown then disappears for a couple of years, Home keeps getting pushed back. Now LIFE is getting delayed from 'available next month'.

A lot of people aren't so much upset at Sony for delays but for the fact that it's become the oppositions bullet points: a list of promises that Sony hasn't fulfilled or has taken it's time dragging its feet to get done.

Part of it is that Sony HAS to announce this stuff because they want to attract newcomers and would lose potential says if that said 'well, we're a while off on that one' and part of it is Sony does want to ship a competent and bug free product, unlike some other companies out there.

i don't quite see the big deal tho, life isn't nearly as big of a deal as home imo. but to me it doesn't seem like life is being delayed for any good reason. sounds like its ready?

Believe me, I know. I mean, we could even consider the SNES CD that Sony was developing as delayed/canceled.

I'm not complaining about anything. I'm glad in a way that things do get delayed because it means that more time is spend on the product or service and that means a better product or service for us. The hard part is waiting. There's nothing that we can do about the delay, we just have to be patient. If this stuff were to be canned, I'd be upset about that, but that's not the case here. I'm sure that when life with playstation and home are released, they'll be very good and sony may release something else down the road in the future. I like what I've seen so far. It takes time to work with newer hardware. If you go on youtube.com, there are dozens of videos that talk about why the ps3 is better then the 360 and vice versa. It's not what you pay, it's what you get for what you pay and how much you'll get over time.

LWP was delayed because Sony had to iron out the agreements with some news websites over the usage of their content.

I can understand that you have differing views on the importance of Sony holding to their word on their announcements but to be quite frank, I could really care less about having something on the specific time and date promised when it concerns what's clearly an entertainment consumer product. If it concerned my vehicle or maybe my coffeemaker, I would have to agree with you, but when it comes to the expensive movie and videogame toy I'm willing to eat a delay or two. Kewlios?

I agree and the delay is understandable. When LWP and Home are released, I think we'll get updates for both over time to fix bugs right? That would make sense. What else can you do with LWP besides get news reports from around the world?

The type of service that LWP is offering is not too different from the weather and news channels already available on the Nintendo Wii, and quite frankly all this initial furor over LWP's delay is quite interesting for a service that will probably see less and less usage as time goes on and until HOME officially comes out. Its a nice feature on the Wii, but really, its nice is all it is. Don't see what Sony's take on this will make it any more different than any other information aggregating service that's already out there, except for that fact that its associated with the DelayStation jokes that are ramping up again

I'm more interested in Home then I am with LWP. Do you that Sony might go a different direction with LWP so that it's not quite the same as on the Wii? I have a wii so I already have this. I don't mind having two of the same things though.

I am sure that Sony will improve a lot with LWP the concept that was initiated on the Wii side as far as game consoles go, and I didn't want the comment to mean that it was going to be any better or worse than what Nintendo has already done. At the core of it tho', LWP is still an information aggregation service so I would hope that Sony will present that information in a more streamlined and seamless fashion than how Nintendo's current News/Weather Channel information is presented on the Wii side.

I think they should take there time with things but not announce any dates till it is set firm just so people can not get pissed.I would rather have delays than the 2.40 firmware fiasco which got totally overblown.

To anyone who still cannot accept the fact.

Just know that there's some problem/difficulty going on right now, with both Home and Life. So does it matter about the previous release date Sony spit out? Just take it as it is, a date that was once true, until issue occur.

Let it go guys, it'll come eventually.

Take Pizza for example, they'll tell you when it arrive, but sometime it takes longer than what they said. Either the delay is due to traffic, the guy drive super slow, the baker drop the pizza and had to pick it up, or he was busy making love to it.

Anyways, the point is, delays happen. I'm sure you guys get the idea. lol

Is there something that Sony can do with LWP that Nintendo hasn't done with the new channel for the wii?

Help cure disease while using LwP. This is reason enough for anyone interested to use this application.

Sonys LwP is nothing like the Nintendo offering, as Sonys LwP does SO much more and LOOKS SO much better from the videos and images I have seen so far!
