Grrrrrr
It sounds like the units aren't uploading after completing. If you stop/start the folding client, do you see the status bar at the bottom showing that its trying to upload?

Is it a bad idea to quit folding when a work unit is uploading.

Never tried this so I don't really know but doesn't the folding slowdown your PS3 as it is said to use computation power for I don't know what causes ?

That doesn't make any sense.

He thinks if you use it, your ps3 will be slower because the power is going towards that application.

In reality its a seperate program and you have to turn it off before doing anything else. But it does slow down the XMB if you try to access it during the folding time.

There's your answer right there.

Just check out their site to see what it's about and to see what they've accomplished.

Not at all, I've been folding on mine for about a year now, stopping every time I want to watch a movie or play a game and haven't had any trouble.

I have a question. I installed f@h on my mac desktop. Went to system prefs and added my user name and the blu-ray.com team number... now what?

I haven't done any work... I thought I might need to leave the computer alone, but I came back an hour later and still no sign of any work... what am i doing wrong?

What do you mean by "not having done any work."

Folding appears to be doing nothing. When I go to my stats page on the stanford page I have all blank spots. IDK am I supposed to do anything?

The work unit that you have should be folding. If that isn't happening, then something is wrong.

Work units take some time to complete, and only after the unit finishes will the points show up on the stats page. Its usually within a couple hours after your work unit finishes and gets sent back.

Same here. I interrupt units almost daily and haven't had any issues. The only time I let them run instead of stopping for a game or movie is if they are 10 minutes or less from completed.

Can you just leave your PS3 on all the time and Folding at Home will continue to send you WUs? Or doesn it have to shut down after each WU?

Its just that I work and live in different cities and am away for 10 days. Just curious if I could just leave it on and have my PS3 continually recieve WUs.

As long as you have a stable internet and power connection to your PS3, it'll keep on sending WUs. I've left mine in Folding@Home for an entire weekend without any complications.

To answer your question, you can leave your ps3 on all the time. You can set the program up to shut down after a certain amount of time, but as long as you have electrical power, the folding@home program will continue to run until you turn it off yourself.

I do normal mode. The advanced mode gives you more information that you may not be interested in.
