That is definitely a fake Facebook profile. The real "John Kelly" (as shown in the profile picture) is a German singer. Either someone who works for Fotokem went through the trouble to set up a phony account in order to post or, more likely, this is all a work.

No reason for any of this. The Bluray will be in peoples hands soon enough, and we'll know for sure.

Normally, I would agree. Vendors should stagger their releases and sales-days. However, given the unfortunate pricing at Dark Force for these specific limited editions, I was somewhat disappointed and this resulted in a relenting on Frogtown, which had violated the rules by $1.99. I got to pre-order the slip edition of the new Piper! That made me happy, as, previously, it was going to be an order for a film for a friend and a new one for me. Both of us actually ended up ordering Frogtown, placing our own orders in the last week, and, as much as I love the series of PM films, Berserker being my favourite, Breeders doesn't have Roddy Piper or Sandahl Bergman. (I still love Dark Force, but I didn't love the over-pricing, even though it worked out well for me that they overcharged. PIPER!)

As to the Facebook exchange with "John Kelly", I don't put much stock in that kind of thing. First, if that were true, once reported by Dark Force, they would be able to identify the real name of the individual very quickly and they'd get fired. Second, David did actually have correction done on both films. $350 wouldn't begin to cover that work. For my vote, that conversation appeared to be fake.

Not potentially. He'd be gone in a day.

Just for the record, as not buying it is fine, your choice and all that, but the aspect ratio is the correct aspect ratio. If they'd cut it to fit the screen, too much of what Matthews filmed, to fill the top and bottom of the old 4:3 screens, would have been lost, along with parts of the leads' faces. The 4:3 decision was the best decision, given the circumstances. On my list of special films, allowing greater expenditure, was "The Baby", specifically for the 4:3 version, and I think I spent a whopping $24, shipping included, for the new open-matte 4:3 Blu, when it came out, just to have that version and replace the widescreen/cropped version, which deleted some of the... sleazier content, let's just say that.

I practically lived there for a decade. I'd go at lunch or on the way home, on the weekends. I always had something on pre-order. VHS, baby. Good times were had. Tower Records never measured up in the aftermath, so I wasn't actually as sad to see that one go as some.

From an interview with the films director Paul Matthews, it sounds as that may not have been the case.

[Question] Would you be looking at doing a limited theatrical release?
LM [Liz Matthews]: “On Rampage, yes."

[Question] Do you shoot a cinema ratio or a TV ratio?
[Paul Matthews]: "A film like Rampage we shot for cinema. But making sure at the same time that it'll be okay for TV."

Per comments in the Code Red thread, the reason some of you don't see why the Dark Force thread was closed is because the moderators removed posts and issued suspensions.

This thread will re-open with the following warning (yet again).

The general rules of the forum apply to this thread and will be strictly enforced.

Discussion of politics, sexuality, gender equality, etc unrelated directly to the themes of a film will not be allowed. Stick to discussing the Dark Force releases or Code Red releases handled by Dark Force.

Dave runs his label like a showman; enter at your own risk. Deal with it or move on. By the same rules, it is expected that Dave will reciprocate. This website very much appreciates the presence of label insiders and provides a forum for respectful interaction. It goes both ways.

If you don't like something about Code Red or Dark Force, learn to post without all the name calling and label bashing. If that isn't possible for you, please take it someplace other than Blu-ray.com.

Some of you come to this thread seemingly for no purpose other than to attack DF and to troll. The label owner Dave DeFalco may not be the classiest act in the Blu-ray business - he hawks his label like it's a WWE event and he often responds to comments like he's delivering a clothesline from the top rope - but there are members here who post just to provoke a negative response out of him. They do this so frequently it is obvious they enjoy doing this despite their constant b*tching about how DeFalco runs his label. For them it's all part of the fun of hating on the label.

From a customer viewpoint, many of your criticisms are valid and justified; as long as posts are not designed to insult or bait they are allowed to remain. This is standard in any label thread at Blu-ray.com. The problem is the group here who just enjoy poking the bear.

And another thing.....

Some of you post so much in the DF/CR threads you drown out every other voice. It's like being sprayed with a fire hose. I have never put anyone on ignore and as a moderator that isn't an option for me. But boy do I want to. Long-winded, pointless, off-topic, attention-seeking posts may not be against the rules, but they are not fun to read and above all else these threads should be fun to participate in. For everyone.

No one enjoys reading endless posts written like this:

when their content and point can be summed up more like this:

Have a great weekend everyone.

Can you please give us information about the “drive-in material” segments? It was my understanding that Damon Packard was adding a lot of the vintage drive-in cartoons and bumpers to this.

May sound weird, but I love those vintage concession stand style intermissions, and in my perfect world, they’d be at the start of EVERY cult or B movie blu ray.

I do too! I’m excited to see what it’s like.
I’m fortunate enough to still have a drive in nearby but they are a “family drive in” 😞

We have a drive-in that just a couple years ago would show classics along with the big new releases. I got to see HALLOWEEN, NOES, F13, and TEXAS CHAINSAW there. I’ve got to say, I’d never really seen TEXAS CHAINSAW until I saw it at the drive-in. Unfortunately, the place was bought out by some chuckleheads who are running it into the ground. Future screenings of classics seem unlikely at this point.

Can't wait for my copy of GoH to arrive. I love the Arrow release but I can't picture the movie without the scratches, jump cuts and cigarette burns I owned a VHS copy that was so badly scratched it was barely watchable but I loved it anyway lol

Dave, one recommendation, use clear cases for future releases.

EDIT: Dave, you might want to send a free copy to Adina Meisel.

No the tagline is not embossed. Only "Gates of Hell" and the Zombie head.

The wrap does not glow. The paint color is a good match for glow in the dark paint though.
