I'm kinda split on missing footage inserts, if it's something censored that was meant to be in this cut I would say add the inserts, but if it's just extraneous regular footage in a different cut of the movie I don't want to see it added back in. But with this title who really knows at this point?
That's exactly the problem.

The last release was put together by the director with his definitive cuts of both versions as of ten years ago or whatever date was noted as the production date of the two directors cuts (I forget)

Then this release, apparently has the version that was released in theaters way back when.

Then there are more cuts that have more stuff added in.

If you want "no extraneous footage" meaning, the director's intention - well that's the first Dark Force release. If you want "no extraneous footage," meaning, what was released theatrically - then that is the new Dark Force release. If you want just the longest cut available with footage from the original filming whether the director liked it or not, that also has no footage that was completely unrelated to the filming of the movie being produced / was just inserted for marketing purposes - that is probably impossible to determine at this point in time.

The film Lee Jones spoke of that was sold on ebay, is a different film. It is the original XXX film entitled Forced Entry. There are likely film prints in collector's hands, so something better might pop up in the future.

He made a bunch of posts about this particular film.

Tonight I compared the 2 (!) theatrical cuts of the FORCED ENTRY recut, both of which differ dramatically from the Harmony tape...

What both versions of the theatrical cut have in common, quite interestingly, is the complete absence of ALL of the inserts of Nancy Allen's body double being abused on the beach.
It's worth noting that, as with the Intervision VHS of THE LAST VICTIM, wherein these bits are poorly inserted into an unrelated scene, with jarring and visible splices in the picture and soundtrack, the same is true on the Harmony tape of FE. As such, it can be deduced that these bits were never properly integrated into any theatrical version of the film, despite having been shot in the same batch of inserts as the bicycle girl and forest murders.

Perhaps more fascinating is that both versions of the FE theatrical cut do not repeat the rape/killing part of the opening forest murder. In both theatrical versions, the opening forest murder scene cuts midway through, right after the killer corners his victim in the woods. The conclusion of the scene only appears later on (as also seen in the tape), edited into a driving scene. It's notable that the full version which opens the Harmony tape (and is presented identically in the Intervision LAST VICTIM release) is considerably more explicit. Both versions of the FE theatrical cut cut around the more graphic shots of the killer removing his victim's skirt and underwear and also omit a couple shots on him on top of her. If anyone has the Harmony tape, watch the scene as it plays out at the 40 min (or so) mark as this is identical to both theatrical cuts. The opening version of the scene, as present in both theatrical versions, cuts off just after the 10 min mark in the Harmony tape when the killer grabs his victim.
As such, it's likely that the full version of this footage, like the beach inserts, was cut into the print Harmony used and sourced from a different element.

Now for the differences between the two theatrical cuts!
The first, released in 1981, aside from the elongated opening kill and beach inserts cut into the Harmony version, is otherwise identical to that tape.
Then in 1983, for reasons unknown, the montage of zooms into buildings used as the epilogue in the 1981 theatrical cut was relocated to the beginning of the film and bizarrely repurposed as a pre-title sequence, resulting in the repeated shot of the kids going into the house at the end, which in the first theatrical version of FE, bookends the building zooms, simply plays twice in succession in the 1983 recut. This re-edit also removes my personal favorite part of the FE restructure, a roughly 2 min bit of driving around LA, directly following the main titles.

So, in conclusion, we have confirmed (at least) three different theatrical versions of the film: the original LAST VICTIM edit along with the two FE theatrical cuts...And on top of that we have the still bizarre Intervision video version (which might be one of the later iterations on the film when it was reissued theatrically between 1977-80 with such titles as Rape in the Suburbs and On Your Grave in the Suburbs (!!!)) with all of the nude scenes/inserts, plus the new discovery of the fact that the Harmony tape is itself a bastardization of seemingly a couple different cuts assembled into one, but not representing either of the actual theatrical versions of FE.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention that the Intervision tape removes the implied bottle penetration present in the FORCED ENTRY Harmony version. I checked the theatrical FE cuts and they also do no not include the bottle footage. Another difference between the theatrical cuts and the tape!

This is followed immediately by the shot of the car driving up and dumping the body by the bridge.
Tanya Roberts character isn't introduced until almost a third of the way through and there are zero flashbacks of any sort and no nudity except for the non-explicit shot of her in the shower through the fogged glass.

The UK tape is the closest to the original cut, if you remove the inserts.

Simply based on runtime, the Harmony tape is longest, but remember that the Forced Entry version has the Last Victim footage shuffled around and with a voiceover so it's not at all like the original version from 1975.

The version released by Intervision is the original PG cut, with the c. 1980 nudity/violence inserts awkwardly cut into the original version.
Those scenes are: the opening wherein a woman has her dress partially ripped off and is then chased through the woods and eventually killed, a series of short bits of Nancy Allen’s character (replaces here with a body double whose face is never shown) being abused on the beach, and a sequence of the girl on the bicycle (again, a body double with an obscured face) being tortured and beaten.
This footage is a little over 5 min in total and was not part of the original production and looks quite out of place cut in as it is, with the exception of the opening segment which works only because it’s not being used to ‘match’ another scene.

The FORCED ENTRY recut isn’t just the original version with the nude scenes added but rather a full restructure of the film, with many scenes reordered. All of the nude footage from the first batch of inserts present in the Intervision release are back, but in addition to them and the overall shuffling of footage, there’s a new intro and epilogue featuring a driving around montage of porn theatres in LA over which the main titles play and then a rather pointless epilogue with voice over.
In fact, this version has voiceover throughout, in an attempt to channel a Taxi Driver vibe.

Anyway, that’s all I have on it.

It seems likely that this footage was shot in 1980 or so, but before the FORCED ENTRY recut was created.
That version not only adds some bookending footage incongruously shot in LA, but re-edits the original footage as well as the nude inserts, which look to have been shot on the east coast rather than southern CA, but also includes some voice over narration.
As such (discounting the new recut that Sotos did), there are at least three proper theatrical versions of the film:
The original 1975 LAST VICTIM PG cut which had no nudity.
The c. 1980 LAST VICTIM nude inserts version, found ion the Intervision tape.
The 1981 FORCED ENTRY version.

There are, I believe, 7 distinct cuts of the film, with different footage and/or edit structures:

1) The Last Victim - PG-rated 1976 theatrical cut
2) Forced Entry - Harmony Vision VHS cut
3) The Last Victim - Intervision VHS cut
4) Forced Entry - 1981 theatrical cut
5) Forced Entry - 1983 theatrical re-release cut
6) The Last Victim - Dark Force blu-ray Director Cut of The Last Victim
7) Forced Entry - Dark Force blu-ray Director Cut of Forced Entry

I honestly don't care for the director's recuts on the previous Dark Force release. I just want an original cut of the movie. I would love to see an unmolested scan of one of the R-rated re-releases, but I would also enjoy just the original PG version without all of this re-editing going on. We've already got two versions of the "director's intention", or I would say re-interpretation, now I would like to have just a scan of a complete theatrical element and be done with it

Edit: Maybe if a theatrical cut isn't possible, just some sort of untouched vintage cut of the movie. Reading the old forum posts about this just makes this sound like a total mess to figure out what is worth releasing. My vote (if it maters?) is just an un-edited scan of the new 35mm element found by DF. I don't want DF to add yet another cut to this movies history.

I had no problem with the chocie of cuts the director made, but my hope for the new version is that it doesn't have some of the low-framerate, low-digital-resolution clips the directors cut had. Those directors cuts looked like they were put together on an even smaller budget than the film was

Honestly spent too much this time around with the VinSyn sale coming up but ah well, I've been putting in overtime anyway. Picked up the Young Cycle Girls/Drive-In #11 double pack, "the last" copy of Brute Corps, Drive-In #1 and #6 and Land of Doom. Been meaning to pick up Drive-In #6 since it first released and DF's "last copy!" "last 24!" gets me every time.

Still kicking myself I didn't grab Magdalena, doesn't look like it'll be coming back any time soon.

You can try summoning the Demon to see if he'll see you a copy directly. If not, stay patient they'll pop back up eventually.
