So you think Dark Force rose to becoming one of the most prominent cult video labels around within the short time of 3 1/2 years by knowing nothing about these movies and just aimlessly following Banana Man? Lol Dark Force knows everything about all of these movies and each one is hand selected based on a number of qualifications in order to get that prestigious Dark force spine number. Although Banana Man did assist the dark forces tremendously from the beginning, for which he is enjoying the benefits of that as we speak. But now Dark Force has become a major cult video label acquiring great titles like the recent Hundra, Fangs, Hard Rock Nightmare...etc. and putting out top quality HD releases with innovative and standout packaging. We will continue to be a major driving force in the cult home video world. Watch and see...we have some very big things to come...Dark Force 666

Putting out hardcore titles is a very welcome move from me. Long may it continue.

Dave, if you really want to sell your brand, stop using words like 'prominent' or 'prestigious'. False advertising isn't a good look

We get hundreds to sometimes even thousands of orders a month through the store and countless messages requesting all kinds of things from tracking numbers to changes in orders. Very difficult to keep track of as we don't have a big staff like companies like Vinegar Syndrome or Shout Factory do. Not to mention all the crap we just recently had to deal with on those custom slipcovers. So yeah you may be overreacting just a little bit. No disrespect to five dollars...
Yeah but Dave, it may cost you that amount to put those releases out, but it still doesn’t make it right to skim off of the people that are supporting you. That’s the bottom line.

The cost of the shipping may go up. But you do a flat $5 shipping rate. So that makes that point null and void.

And I know it can be tough to keep up. I ran an indie record label by myself at one point.

And tbh it’s not even the amount that matters. It’s the point of the matter. This also isn’t the first time you did something questionable with an order of mine. I let the first time slide.

I wish you all the best man. I obviously dig what you are doing. We all make mistakes. Myself included. I know sometimes it can be hard to see the trees through the forest.

I appreciate you coming to my defense.

But just to be clear, Dave refunded me the postage balance right away when I sent him back the wrong item.

(Yet still has not refunded me the difference for paying for shipping twice)

I've been going through most of my DVDs, and I hit on a large box of forgotten CR titles, like Dandy and that kung-fu set. I applaud anyone for putting out more kung-fu, but those titles are scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel. I didn't think a set could look worse than the Needle Avenger set that Bill put out, but this one does it. Keep your expectations low.

To be fair, I don’t know many businesses that do that if you make two separate orders if shipping for additional items is not arranged ahead of time. Not all systems might be setup to easily handle shipping overlap costs and refunds across multiple orders when combined. I’m sure on larger orders they start to take a hit on shipping costs (I imagine at about 3 titles it starts to cost more than $5 depending on where you live)

Amazon frequently package items together from multiple orders, if I wasn’t a Prime member and didn’t achieve free shipping on any of those orders they would certainly charge me the full amounts. Hamilton Books, a much smaller company than Amazon (but much larger than DF too) also charge a flat shipping fee for each order, even if they were made back to back and likely to be shipped in one package. I’ve certainly done multiple orders at HB in order to secure potential sellouts first and don’t hold it against them for hitting me with the multiple shipping charges, I went in knowing the terms and agreed to them when clicking that order button each time.

Every time Bill complains of something not selling I always think back to the packaging. Don't know about anyone else but if something looks and feels cheap I tend to avoid it. Even turds sell well if you put enough nice window dressing on it. Look at those Andy Milligan and Al Adamson sets from Severin. Unwatchable films in a nice boxed set = fast sellout.

This is the long-winded version of "people buy label"

Otherwise under normal circumstances we would gladly address the issue and try to resolve it to the customer's satisfaction. Contrary to popular belief, Dark Force always aims to please.
You could have simply refunded the customer their $5 without the fanfare, but you decided to go on a diatribe about how much it costs you to put out these releases and how more items cost more to ship. It comes off as you're hard up for funds and needed that $5 to pay the bills.

Did you received and check these out yet? I'm considering that Drive In Volume 11 & 12 bundle myself.
