I believe Mr. Band over at Full Moon may have the DVD rights and while I took the time a few years back to import the Austrian release, this is a film I'd have no problem double dipping on and one I would think would do rather well as it's filled to the brim with bat shit crazy moments.

Depends on the extras and the quality if I re-buy. The German blu is pretty spartan. At the very least, I would pimp the domestic release from the mountaintops - Mad Foxes is GREAT!

Watched Magdalena last night. What an insane flick!

[Show spoiler]As for the climactic exorcism, what a letdown. Easiest exorcism ever. As a matter of fact it was a self-exorcism. The priest played by The Exorcist's own Rudulf Shundler (Karl in The Exorcist) basically passes on the responsiblity of the exorcism to the psychiatrist. And the psychiatrist just tells Magdalena to say a prayer. She does, a snake comes out of her mouth and it is stamped on and disappears.

Movie over. Still, the movie was a hoot and I give it a hearty recommendation.

Plus, the spoiler does mention a quick, but brutal scene of real animal killing for the camera. I think that should be mentioned as I know a lot of people have O tolerance for such a thing.

It's a shame, that killing moment was completely unnecessary, and it kind of took the fun out of the film, because otherwise the film is 99% non-stop hilarity.

I don't think a snake was really killed in it. It still seemed to be alive when it vanished from sight. Anyway, I'll choose to believe that. I don't like animal violence either. I have to turn away whenever something like that happens in films particularly Italian cannibal films.

[Show spoiler]I believe the snake is stomped on twice; yes, still somewhat alive even after the second stomp, but clearly damaged enough where it would never survive afterwards. Which makes it worse, knowing it was suffering. They could have just had it slither away and then disappear, but I guess they wanted shock value by stomping on it.

I hope Magdalena will still be offered in the original slipcover even though it may be falling apart. Would be cool to have that one. Although the newer one looks nice too.

Mine has gotten worse in the week or two I've had it just sitting on a shelf so I assume it will all peel up eventually.

I hadn't looked closely at the slipcover for probably a couple weeks myself. Just checked it, and it does seem like the glow layer has peeled or bubbled a fair amount more since then. It's a bit of a bummer. I wonder if these slips were created by a different vendor than earlier ones for DF titles or if they used a different process.... or if it was just bad luck?

I would say about 25% of the glow material on my slip has flaked off in the past couple of weeks.

Would like to see a pic of that. Unfortunately some are affected worse than others. We have seen literally hundreds of them and so far the worst has been just peeling up from the bottom not even quite an inch. But most are not nearly that bad and even peeling a bit they still glow pretty nicely. Shame because otherwise it's a great looking slip.

I wasn't able to get a good picture with the glow but if you look at the one i uploaded, the bright yellow all along the bottom, sides, and hands is where the glow material has flaked off.
