At this time we believe we do know where the negative is for Low Blow. We are are working on extracting it. Some of these releases can get very involved due to the status of the original elements.

Thank you, Dave. I'm really glad you dropped that title in uhd. The underlying transfer is fantastic, the disc really looks great and the mastering work is very solid. The flick is a blast. As collectors, we're incredibly lucky that DF has the knowledge, good taste and the moxy to take big risks and go after some of these great vintage grindhouse, horror and exploitation flicks of every kind. No one else out there would be dropping these titles on uhd sets. You go through the heartburn, with very little thanks from your customers, and we the collectors win. Credit where credit is due. I hope you stay in the uhd game as long as you can and continue to grow out a healthy catalog, just as you've been doing. I've bought multiple copies all of the DF 4k releases to date in support of that effort, and I've watched them all several times by now. Worth every penny. We crack a lot of jokes and bust balls around here, but DF is doing important work, and I'll be spinning and enjoying your discs for many years to come. That's a fact.

I'd love to see tons of Code Red releases get a Dark Force 4k uhd...Starting with Cut and Run, Ghostkeeper, Ironmaster, The Being, Screams of a Winter Night, and The Redeemer: Son of Satan. No time is a bad time for a re-release or 4k upgrade of a Code Red title.

Between Code Red and Scorpion, there's a literal treasure trove of movies that will likely stay stuck on 1080p discs for eternity, sadly. Most of those are very good discs but there's a better format now that can make these movies shine - it'll be like getting them on disc for the first time if the right label comes along and re-releases them.

The number one Code Red reissue I would like is THE BABYSITTER (1969). Bill went the extra mile and found the long thought-lost original version that had originally been rated X. Unfortunately, Code Red only released it in DVD.

It's possible that the entire Crown International Pictures library is still up for sale and that individual titles aren't currently available for lease.

I'd also love to see a two-fer of MADMEN OF MANDORAS and the later reedit of it, THEY SAVED HITLER'S BRAIN. Those titles were released on a BCI/Eclipse DVD, but never on Blu-ray.

The HD master made for the release was done from an antiquated telecine transfer over a decade and a half ago. Further this release had no extras and a cheap slipcover. Conversely the new DARK FORCE 4K release features a high end new 4K scan from one of the best scanners around, The Director. With all new color correction and stunning HDR the picture quality will be superior to the old release in every way. Also an insane high quality custom Slipcover and new and exciting extras including rare Behind The Scenes footage. And the Collector's Set does come with a Bluray as well. If you were one of the smart ones that pre-ordered this release during the Black Friday sales event then you are locked in as first in line to receive it later this month. For all that did not pre-order, pay close attention to this page in the weeks to come for critical information on how you may still obtain a copy. Previous DVD releases of THE BABYSITTER (1969) on BCI/Eclipse and Mill Creek were taken from an improperly scanned PAL source, producing some visual artifacts.

Bill of Code Red went down to Crown International himself and discovered that the more explicit version of the film had been mismarked for decades as being a cut TV print.

I'm not certain if the Mill Creek and the Code Red DVDs differ in terms of content, but the Code Red was properly transferred from Crown's original vault elements, much better looking than the previous releases from the PAL source

DaylightsEnd again thank you. I do get a lot of ball busting but it does kind of come with the territory when you are a character. But it is definitely nice to hear the appreciation for these releases as they are all no easy feat and each one has its own set of challenges. It is quite rewarding when each one finally comes out and I am satisfied with the level of quality achieved.

THE FARMER 4K has been a tough road, martinb. It was supposed to be finished months ago. Thank the forces of darkness it is finally nearing completion and heading to the final stages of replication. Once we encountered the significant delays we quickly stopped taking the pre-orders. That being said when it does finally arrive, near the end of the month, we will immediately ship the pre-orders and after that the remaining inventory should become available. Unfortunately our runs on these very expensive 4K releases have been limited due to our lack of funds as a result of our ongoing legal situation. So be sure not to delay when it comes around again. Everything has been quite erratic during this very volatile period at Dark Force.
