I hope JJ gives him a locked print so he can work his magic the way he did on the original films. Lucas had to write a lot of non-specific action music for the Prequels, because Lucas futzed with everything constantly.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say its unofficially in concrete. Williams stated a month or so ago that he wants to score the new trilogy. And I read something yesterday, can't remember where, that even Giacchino wants Williams to score Star Wars. Now with that statement from Abrams, all parties are in. Williams is more or less a lock.

A huge step in the right direction and really the only choice. I hope Williams is willing and able to score VII, VIII and IX.

Though it'd be interesting to get new composers in for the spin-off films. I'd love to hear what Michael Giacchino would do in this universe.
Awesome!

I'm guessing.

There is absolutely no reason for Fox to have their logo on the new movies too.

yes it is fan art. Someone on my facebook page posted it to my timeline so I figured I'd share it here. Still cool if in fact Ep VII ends up being a true sequel trilogy.....

Do you just use peanut butter? Or do you add anything to it? Curious, I'd like to try something different.

No doubt. It looks like the Asajj Ventress Premium Format statue from Sideshow. I should know, I own it.

Unless he decides that he simply can't put in the required amount of dedication for this, which would be a perfectly valid excuse for a man as old as he. I want him to return, he's the lifeblood of the series to some extent, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if he didn't end up doing it for one reason or another.

We'll have to just wait for official word from Williams himself; everywhere is still reporting that Abrams wants him to return, so it seems to have not been confirmed or denied at this point.

You should have said Superman 2. Superman 4 actually had new music composed by Williams. It's the only Superman sequel to include that.

Revenge of the Rancor

Although, there are also rumors of it being called Boba Fett Returns

[Show spoiler]Obviously I'm joking, but wouldn't that be awesome?

with Episode VII being shot in the U.K i can see this as a good omen and also the cast aren't trekking around the world to Australia.

I just hope that Jar Jar Binks returns. Would be nice to see how much he's aged since the events of Episodes 4-6 happened without him.

He died on Alderaan during the events of Episode 4 when Tarkin had the planet destroyed.

I wish!
No matter how good or bad the new films are, at least the saga no longer ends with the most annoying film character EVER shouting 'We's a-free!'

Way, WAY more annoying than Vader's 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!'

Jar Jar's fate revealed. Since Lucas was still adding things for the blu release, he should have added this to Episode 4.
