The shoot for Star Wars: Episode VII recently wrapped up in Abu Dhabi after a lot of fanfare, and as usual director JJ Abrams did his best to keep details of the productin highly secretive (despite some set photo leaks). We all know what the principal cast of the film looks like since it was officially announced in a press release last month, but is that all the actors in the film?

According to our source, actor Simon Pegg, previously seen in JJ Abram's 'Star Trek' series and 'Mission Impossible 3', is in fact playing a secret role in the film and was present on set to shoot scenes in Abu Dhabi. This is in stark contrast to what Pegg had to say about a possibility of starring in Star Wars previously:

“I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting.”

Whether he changed his mind or this was a ruse all along, the fact is that Pegg may have an unannounced cameo or role in the film that we don't know about just yet. It's exciting to see a re-union for the two and makes us more enthusiastic for Star Wars: Episode VII if that were even possible.

A source tells THR that the actor, who reprises his role as Han Solo from the original franchise, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that his character pilots in the original films. The spaceship looks to be making a return in the sequel.

He injured himself on the Falcon's door? Man, things have changed. 30 years ago, Ford hurt his back during a fight scene in Temple of Doom. 21 years ago, he tore his ACL doing a stunt in The Fugitive(and refused to have it surgically repaired til after filming was done). Now this?

I'm guessing he barely hurt his ankle but they took him to the hospital for precaution and Disney is using this to promote (not that they need to) the fact that Solo and The Falcon are back together again in case anyone didn't already know. That's my thought. Hope he's doing well.

It's a ploy to show how invested he is in Han Solo since his recent Indiana Jones was like a parody of the iconic character.

Han Solo is not as physically exhausting to play as playing Indiana Jones, so if he mixes a bit what he did in 42 and Ender's Game (aka "acting"), he'll do a good job as Han Solo.

Man this gives me a sinking feeling in my gut. Hopefully they can film other stuff or use Ford for scenes that don't require a lot from him. Or maybe they can just halt production, wait for him to heal and take the cost on the chin knowing in all likelyhood this will probably be the highest grossing film of alltime.

Ya, the rest of the movie was shite....but I thought he was good in Ender's.
