The need to bring back an iconic villain says that they are stuck in a creative desert and are clueless what to do: 'you know what, let's bring back Palps!'
Never mind that the moment of his downfall was one of the most iconic moments of Star Wars.
I don't want to see Palpatine again. Why should we? what is the point?

And if we're talking about the force, I'm sure that if he DID happen to survive, surely, Luke - certainly Darth Vader - would still sense his presence?

Don't be surprised if they threw in another musical act...

Can Ian McDiarmid play a young Palpatine? As in via a Force-flashback to the death of Plagueis and the creation of Anakin? Can someone else play young Palpy?

Palpatine won't be in this movie. Lucas would have never allowed it to begin with.

If it's a flash back then that's fine, but if we're talking about a proper return then it wouldn't be.

At the end of the day.....Lucas has no say. Oh they can be nice and pretend he does but 4.8 billion reasons why he is not. Good thing I'm not the head of Disney because I wouldn't let him with 500 feet of a lot or set piece.

Yeah, I agree with you. That clone stuff seems to run country to the point of myth. What's the point of defeating a villain if he just conveniently pops up again in the next story like Michael Meyers. No victory in that. More like Sisyphus than The Hero's Journey.

Lucas wrote the outline/first draft for this new trilogy and he's been in contact with the filmmakers on practically a daily basis since he started writing the new trilogy with Kasdan. This is the reality. Deal with it. Your fanboy hatred of Lucas is kind of funny, yet still pathetic.

Oh I'm sure you've never said you hate him, but your tone in practically every post is joyous at the fact that you think Lucas is no longer involved in Star Wars, even though in the real world the rest of us live in, he's very much involved in these next set of films.
