Where is that stated in the films? Attack of the Clones is 10 years after Phantom Menace and Dooku was working for Palpatine about 10 years before AotC, so it lines up fine with Dooku being Maul's replacement unless I missed something.

Dooku left the order @ 32 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin....EP 4).

The Ep 1 takes place 32yrs before (A New Hope), so that would mean that at some point after mauls death and/or possibly before he hooked up with Palpatine/Sidious.

From Dooku's Wookieepedia page:

He fell under the influence of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of Naboo, and left the Jedi Order. After learning that Palpatine was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, Dooku turned to the dark side and became a Dark Lord of the Sith himself, replacing Darth Maul as Sidious's second apprentice.

Dooku's growing disenchantment with the Jedi way was sensed by Senator Palpatine, who had been watching Dooku for some time and had plans that required someone with Dooku's reputation, skills, and financial resources. Palpatine was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, and even before the Battle of Naboo in 32 BBY he had held several meetings with Dooku to feel out his opinions and cultivate him as an ally.

Cool! So, will the presentation be like Interstellar in that it the AR will switch throughout the movie? Also, is it normal for 3d movies to be shot on film? I thought digital 3d was kind of a must.

Sorry to ramble.
The Sith didn't always have it, it was instituted by Darth Bane to avoid the incessant in-fighting that plagued the Sith, the guy killed all the other Sith and took an apprentice and from then on there were only two "Darths" with only a few minions occasionally and the Sith started to act in secret rather than trying to amass armies against the Jedi.

The film will have one sequence in IMAX, so the AR will only switch for that sequence, rather than multiple times throughout the movie.

The film will be converted to 3D. Film or digital doesn't matter when you're converting the footage during post production.

I got my hands on a 1080p version of the latest The Force Awakens trailer with 5.1 sound! It will be one of the trailers I show tomorrow during our Booth Bijou Garage Theater event. This morning, I put together the VLC playlist for tomorrow and tested it out on my living room system.

HOLY SUBWOOFER, Batman! The surround sound and LFE in the 5.1 trailer are INCREDIBLE! I'm talking a whole different level of intense sound that I've not experienced in a trailer before. At least, not one that I've used here at the Booth Bijou!!

If you have a home theater PC and it's connected to a good 5.1 system (or a way to play back .mp4 files on your system), point your browser here to download the 5.1 trailer:

You want Trailer B - 5.1 audio!

Excuse me, I'm going to go watch it again!!

Mark

The trailer looked great because Abrams is actually making a contemporary star wars film. The prequels look like CG animation films with live action actors in comparison. The difference is striking.

My only reservation is returning the old cast from the old movies. Hopefully their roles are limited.

I hope to god they're a major part of the movie, that's one of the only reason's this new movie is appealing.

I agree. The main storyline of these films has always been about the Skywalker bloodline. What Luke, Leia and their offspring do is what should shape not only the lives of everyone around them but practically the whole galaxy. Without the Skywalkers, there is no Star Wars.

Amen. I wonder if people like Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor are seeing these pictures and thinking, "That looks way more fun than what we had to put up with."

Go back and read The Phantom Menace "making of" books and watch The Beginning featurette. They went to Tunisia for all Tattooine shoots, there was even a storm that destroyed all the physically built sets. Shots like above doesn't need any green screen now and then. Please don't mislead people with wrong information.
