Body Heat was pretty good as well.

The problem with most prequel discussion is that most people have no setting between "awful" and "great." The prequels have a lot going for them, they just also have a lot of flaws. They land firmly in the "okay" camp and most people on the internet don't seem to have an "it was okay" setting.

When do you guys think we'll get our first full trailer? Usually full trailers come out four months before release. Which would mean late August. But Disney has Ant-Man in July. Could we get it then?

I think The Phantom Menace was great, Revenge of the Sith awful, and Attack of the Clones okay.

All the prequels are certainly entertaining with some boring scenes sprinkled through out, but they are still pretty awful movies. They can certainly be labeled into the "so bad, they are good" category such as other fantasy films like Conan the Destroyer, Sorceress, Red Sonja, Star Crash, Ice Pirates, Waterworld, The Postman, 10000 BC, etc.

All three prequels certainly have awesome moments:
Phantom Menace: Darth Maul; Duel of Fates music
Attack of the Clones: Jango Fett
Revenge of Sith: Palpatine turning into evil diva

I've never understood the point of them. Why should we care how someone else reacts to a preview?

Ironically where the train started to derail in many ways. I personally hope the film is more geared towards Star Wars and Empire and not Jedi.
I saw an interview with Lucas a few years back and he said that when he set out to make Star Wars, his peers were questioning him as to why of all the projects he wanted to do, why in the world did he choose that. His answer was "because it's fun and I wanted to make an impression on young kids."

Now without trying to be too nit-picky or dissect words too much, it sounds to me like he DID have a younger audience in mind when he made Star Wars.

You have to remember that the whole Sci-Fi fantasy genre in the 70's went largely ignored and back then, it didn't have this huge following among adults like it does now. There were no comic-cons or Sci-Fi conventions or Cosplay. Adults didnt' dress up like characters at Halloween and walk around acting like idiots (in a good way). Stories like Star Wars back in 1977 WERE considered for young kids. They were regarded on the same level as comic books and Saturday morning cartoons.

In my opinion, the revisionist history largely is coming from fans who think Star Wars should have "grown up" with them and think the universe should be darker and the stories more serious. Hell The Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons are 1000X more violent than the original trilogy and these were shows on Cartoon Network and Disney XD! The OT were PG movies for god's sake with wise-cracking droids, little funny Jawas, Ewoks, muppets, sasquatches, cool space ships, a princess, unlikely heroes, weird aliens, etc. If those aren't the makings of stories to appeal to young kids, I don't know what is.

Merely saying this proves that you're a guy with their ego in check and aren't driven by a need for people to like them.

Default Alternate version of Kylo Ren, and his Lightsaber design.

A different version of Kylo Ren was being used in scene sketches until quite late in pre-production, and it’s an interesting peek into what could have been:

Featuring a red and black helmet with what appears to be a hose that goes from the mask to underneath the robe.

The evolution of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. Instead of the crossguard saber he is carrying a hilt with a wampa claw embedded in its pommel. This saber was a favorite of the production team, and it was developed at least through many revisions of illustrations labeled “Wampa Saber”:

I totally agree except when it's a hidden camera situation or if someone doesn't know why they're being filmed. But, unless it's meant as a joke, people recording their own reactions is such BS.

*Claps* Thank you!

I'm so tired of how it always has to be so black and white when people talk movies (and a lot of other things) online. Something either sucks and is the worst thing ever, or it's great and maybe a masterpiece and future classic. It's like everyone thinks and talks in hyperbole, and it's quite the turnoff.

Sorry to conform to the internet cliché of not having an "it was okay" setting, but I can't stand Seinfeld. I couldn't even make it to the end of that short clip.
