The trailers need a force-Yoda in them otherwise my hype level is as low as Hayden Christensen's career.

If you can accept that human beings age it looks fine. Hollywood seems to make people believe everyone looks 25 until they suddenly look 60 and retire from ever being seen in public again.

I'm fine watching busted old men in The Expendables or Liam Neeson at 63 fighting off guys left and right. I just have zero hype to see these particular old guys and gals come back. If this movie had announced Helen Mirren as a Sith Lord I'd be in line right now.

I haven't watched a SW movie since leaving the theater after witnessing the monstrosity that was The Phantom Menace. And I had no interest in changing that, until J.J. was announced as director. Since I enjoy almost everything he's done, I was at least intrigued.

Then this whole bringing back Han, Luke, and Leia thing -- and all interest I once had disappeared immediately. It's so absurd. I just don't get it.

That's my view. All I keep thinking back to was how bad Star Trek: Generations was mixing new and old. Hyping the original cast isn't working for me and the trailers have been less than impressive.

Oh, and the asthmatic guy in all the trailers makes me lol too hard to take the rest serious.

I agree, up to a certain point. While I was extremely jazzed to see Han and Chewie in the new trailer, I would prefer that these new adventures NOT include all the old characters. But then it wouldn't be STAR WARS. Seriously. For better or worse, part of the STAR WARS mythos over the years is that everything important in the universe is accomplished by about six people. And they're all related! For the new film to be "in the family" (and include our old characters) is perfectly in keeping with everything that's transpired since "Luke I am your father" shook the world in 1980 and started to shrink the universe.

Absolutely. Whoever did his hair/hairpiece absolutely nailed it.

He looked great and very much like an older but not aged Han Solo.

I can't really disagree, since you're obviously right. But any excitement I had is just gone. As I said, I like J.J. typically, and most of the rest of the cast is pretty good.

No matter who the actress or actor, they all pretty much look like they're taking part in local-theatre when they snapped for wardrobe fittings and that's doing a disservice to local-theatre productions!

There is nothing wrong with the aging of Han, Luke, and Leia, it's just that seeing them old in character takes away the timelessness of the OT films. For 25+ years of enjoying watching the OT films, it was like they were immortal.

It's okay though still - im happy to see them return as awkward as it may be to see them return.

And the old Princess Leia photo looks good - she looks like she could be the wild friend of Mon Mothma's. I can imagine the two at the Cantina bar with Leia telling Mon Mothma, "come on, you helped defeat that old piece of shit Emperor, have a drink."

And...? That's a good thing. Sometimes it's good to actually let your inner child run wile sometimes. I'd hate to be as negative as some of the people I see online. They've lost sight of just having fun with movies. You yourself keep talking about how you just can bring yourself to be excited, it's like you're holding yourself back from fear of being disappointed. I get being disappointed sucks, but I'd rather have faith in what's coming, not be so bitter like so many online seem to be. Sometimes, it's just fun to be a kid again.
