I defy you nerds NOT to get excited after watching this.

As someone who has had a lifelong obsession with star wars. Every book, movie show comic and toy. No i think it looks completely awful in every single way with the exception of Phasma and Serkis.

I loathe Batman and superman and I'm completely pumped for that. #&'$ episode 7.

However Rogue one sounds awesome.

Because they didn't match the CG full size versions.
They also move far too rapidly (breathing, twitching muscles, eye movements & dilation effects).

And I've seen the film three times now - I didn't know they had replaced the Legacy Effects heads with CG ones until I read the Cinefex. They LOOK great. So I don't know what you're complaining about.

Practical or digital...none of that is going to matter if they didn't nail the script. Attack of the Clones isn't a bad experience for me because of the 13 year old f/x, it's the woeful screenplay. Episode VII isn't going to be a good exerience because they built a working BB8 or shot in Ireland or in the mountains...it's going to come down to writing.

Don't think they look like shit, but could totally tell it was CGI. Which made me confused out of my head when I saw pics of them being animatronics. Makes sense now.

Hey guys. Something came to me just now. Just because Abrams is doing the real sets and props approach to TFA...what if the other directors decide to go a different way with their films, like a more CGI approach to Episode VIII or IX?

I assume the producers will have a consistent "look" guideline going on, like other franchise producers do (DC, Marvel, X-Men, etc.).

I lost faith in the fella when, after watching Batman Begins for the first time, he said it was as good as The Godfather. I love Batman as much as any other fan, but that's pure hyperbole, lol.

Well, Batman Begins is perhaps my favourite superhero film ever, and I'd much rather rewatch that then The Godfather, BUT you can't really compare the two as they're completely different films in wholly separate genres that are trying to evoke different sorts of feelings from the viewer. That'd be almost like comparing Dumb and Dumber with Schindler's List (okay, that was a bit extreme, but you get my point )

Knowles is a fraud -- he describes himself as a movie expert...he was talking about Hitchcock's Rebecca and said Joan Fontaine played the title role (Rebecca is dead, Joan Fontaine plays her successor). He said Hal Ashby directed Tootsie. He famously said Brian Cox played the android Ash in Alien.
