I'm 44 years old, and in my time, no news network - conservative or liberal - has had a monopoly on time-filling jokey commentary. It seems to be spread with abandon. Fox is no more idiotic in this regard than any other entertainment news commentary network. I don't come to this site for this stuff. Take it to Politico or your Facebook page.

Hmmm...anyone familiar with the story of Darth Plagueis? A theory my friend told me is Rey has Plagueis' staff. How true does that hold up?

I'm familiar with Plagueis, but I find the idea that pictured staff Ridley is holding belongs to him to be a little far fetched.

I doubt it. There can be many staffs.

Having said that, personally I would love the new films to touch upon Plagueis in some way. Given that the novel Darth Plagueis is not considered official canon material, he is character that could be explored in some detail in future canon works.

Plagueis is established as a major figure in Star Wars history because of Revenge of the Sith, and what is implied in Palpatine's talk to Anakin. Lucasfilm may choose to ignore that completely from now on, but it's possible they might come up with all manner of stories involving Palpatine's master.

Personally I would not like to ever see a dark side/Sith character appear as an Obi-Wan/Yoda/Anakin-style force ghost, but it could possibly be interesting to have a character temporarily possessed with a dark side spirit of some kind, perhaps as a result of Plagueis and Palaptine's experiments in the dark side.

How many episodes does one have to watch of a show to give it a chance in your opinion? Usually I watch 1 or 2, maybe 3. There's a million shows out there, I can't watch full seasons of all of them to see what I like. Star Wars might merit another chance someday, which I already said, but I think 6 episodes is a big sample.

I tried watching Syfy's "Killjoys" the other day and gave up in 20 minutes.

It'll be great when we can get past the 10 or so stock photos that they keep using and re-using as the promo for this movie. I'm so sick of seeing the same damn photos slapped on EVERY piece of merchandise.
