In summary, yes, 2.0 stereo is more accurate to what was shown in the theater. But the DD5.1 mix will be closer to the original master prior to being downmixed/degraded as a result of the theatrical technical limitations of the time. So the DD5.1 mix really is closer to the original master elements, assuming the mix is done properly as it was with Fright Night. Again, I would not want to see a print with hair, dust, damage and other analog film issues just because analog film was what was shown in the theater.

Thus, if we are looking to preserve the elements as best as possible and not just present the lowest common denominator of what a theater in the 80s was capable of, a proper discrete multichannel mix is superior to matrixed audio in my opinion when a discrete master is available. It is simply the best preservation of the film's original elements; if you really want stereo, you can easily set your processor to downmix the 5.1 to stereo.

Finally, apparently some restoration work was done on the audio for the 5.1 release based on its superiority to the DVD's audio. So in addition to losing the discrete audio from the original master, you are probably additionally losing that restoration work. If the 2.0 track uses the same master as the one from the DVD, the fidelity is significantly worse than the the 5.1 remix. I also find it unlikely that great lengths were gone through to restore the 2.0 mix when that was clearly not a priority in any of the initial TT or Sony/international Blu-ray releases; the Sony international release had 6 dolby digital soundtracks and they still chose to omit the english 2.0 track - most likely you will get a tacked-on DTS-MA 2.0 encoding of the 15+ year old stereo master used for the DVD's DD2.0 track or one of similar fidelity.

Seriously. Editing is your friend.

I got my shipping notification on Friday, with it actually being in transit (rather than just creating the label), with the expected delivery date being Tuesday. Historically, I also tend to get my SAE orders a couple days after people start getting them, rather than being among the first orders to be shipped.

In short, I'm positive that it's all picked at random, but those are all the potential variables if someone wants to figure out any potential, likely nonexistent formula for their methods...

It must be random. I also ordered three (so did a friend of mine), but at 4:40 and 4:30 SAE time, and our orders are still pending. That's weird that they do it randomly.

I think they just print out order slips, toss them in a big bingo bin roller and choose at random. I've ordered literally the minute the sale goes live, and sometimes DAYS after the pre-orders come out and it doesn't seem to make a difference....completely random

My orders are never shipped early (I'm still stuck on 'Pending' in this instance, as per usual). Maybe because I'm in MA and closer than a bunch of other states... Or I'm plain unlucky.

You would think so especially given there is a limited quantity but in the end as long as everyone gets their order then it won't matter much. Hopefully, SAE kept accurate count of their inventory. In the past, it seemed like orders with multiple items would ship later than single item orders but that doesn't seem to be the case any more.

Mine is still pending as well, only ordered one copy of Fright Night and no other movies. I got it ordered about 45 mins after it went live. I'm pretty confused as to why some are getting shipped and others are not.

Fright Night will ship.. show some patience and stop red flagging - its really nothing to worry about
Tomorrow is a holiday so even if items do say shipped the chances of it actually going out wouldnt be until Tuesday. Obviously they cant and wont ship all 5000 at once.
