This one looks promising. There are also Australian and German releases available, I believe.

I think TT have found the right balance though, with the 3-copy limit and 1-copy limit later on. That way resellers can do their thing to a limited extent and fans should have more time to get a copy for themselves. Worked out well for The Blob, but I think TT (again) underestimated desire for this title.
This. Don't over do it. It's that simple. Example: If you go into best buy and grab a Steelbook to resale it, there's nothing wrong with that. If you grab 1 or 2 extra copies to sell, again nothing wrong with that. But when you clean out a store of every steel book they have so not one actual collector can grab one for themselves, then you're a greedy d bag. This applies to everything in life..............almost.

Cool. Thanks. I'm looking at the German release. I'm wondering if the only difference is the lack of extras. Anyone know how the transfer holds up to the TT release?

Not to be mean but the amount of redundancies in this thread...aye aye aye...

1) Where's my shipping notice? Got a shipping notice!
2) Scalping vs. reselling debate
3) Bashing TT for their limited edition business model
4) Where can I get FN on BD if I missed this one? An import? People mentioning the import and how cheap it is.
5) How's the transfer? (answer: it's practically the same as the first TT BD)

Honestly does anyone read the thread for those last two? Maybe they should be put in the first post. As for the first three, just unnecessary (#2 and #3 always repeat themselves in TT threads).

I notice those still waiting here are from Canada, and I'm in the UK. I wonder if they're taking longer with international orders for whatever reason?

I'm not sure who that's aimed at? I ordered one, and if that single copy doesn't ship I'm not getting one at all. I knew I shouldn't have sold the old edition so quickly (but did get a good price considering the demand for that one has fallen).

But you'd only be out $35 if you never get your copy. That's $420 for Jaymole, not even counting the major profits he'd make by reselling those copies on ebay, so it's a much bigger loss for him.

Ongoing joke - taste to be determined on an individual basis I presume. The Kate he refers to purported themselves to be an employee of TT, and referred to him as "scum" in a response to his intial posting of said joke.

I purchased the German release about 3 months prior to the 30th Anniversary being announced. PQ is very good - however, the 5.1 re-mix is wrong. It's nothing like the original 2.0 Dolby Surround on the original Beta/VHS or Laserdisc. This has happened a lot in 2.0 up mixed to 5.1. Then they make a 2.0 from that 5.1.
I got the 30th Anniversary in hopes it was corrected.

What is the over/under on Fright Night 2 ever getting a blu-ray release? I don't think it even got a worthwhile DVD release (I recall hearing the PQ was terrible), but still :P

The legit dvd was fullscreen and looked like shit too boot. I think if a real release was gonna happen, it would've happened during one of these sell outs of the first film. Find the custom BD vidjunkie and crew did for it. It's probably better than whatever studio has the film would do with it.

Thanks for explaining. For some reason I am strangely attracted to Kate....must be the masochist in me.

The fascinating thing is #2 and #3 went away for DAYS while everyone was posting #1. Why did talk about the fascinating shipping drama drive off the usual TT/reselling talk? Now that almost everyone has had their copy ship, it's back to the usual crap. Even the old "true fans" comment has been thrown back into the mix. This has been going on for over FOUR YEARS now. Amazing.
