I just ordered the Spanish region free version of Mysterious Island. The wording on the cover is in espanol, but the audio is English and Spanish. Plus, I am latino, so no biggie.

With shipping it was only $21.

And this original Twilight Time Fright Night release, the ashtray and Fright Night and that's all I need. And this Twilight Time 30th Anniversary Fright Night release. The ashtray, Fright Night, and the other Fright Night, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the Fright Night and the other Fright Night. And this lamp. The ashtray, this Fright Night and the other Fright Night and the lamp and that's all I need. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. The Fright Night, and the chair, and the other Fright Night, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that's all I need. The ashtray, the Fright Night, the other Fright Night, this magazine and the chair."

PS, come on people, can't we all just laugh about it?

Nope. Looks better in my opinion since it's just the poster and doesn't have TWILIGHT TIME plastered on it.

Why keep it sealed? Aren't movies to watch and not frame?

So for reselling you mean buy it for 40 bucks and sell it for 200? Capitalist swine

don't ask me. but I know people on here who will buy two copies of a movie, especially limited editions, and keep them sealed as "collector's items" and watch the other copy not my cuppa tea

I think calling someone "rich" for shelling out an additional $30 is a bit dramatic...

Hard core collecting:

One to use, one to collect, and one to resell later.

Or one to use, one to collect/resell (whichever suits your fancy).

I don't see the use in keeping one forever in plastic, just for the sake of "collecting" it / keeping it unused in plastic... It's only valuble in the long run if you (can) resell it.

I have a more practical reason for having a 2nd copy of a release.

Of the well over 700+ dvds and Blu-rays I've amassed over the decades, I can count on one hand the few I bought exact duplicates of and left one copy sealed and that was because I figured the movie (all of which are in my top 10 favorite films ever) would likely never see another home video release and I wanted a physical backup in case the "viewed" copy was damaged, "rotted" or lost in some way.

BINGO!!! Finally someone using ALL of their available brain cells. Everybody assumes people who buy a 2nd copy is a scumbag looking to stick it to others. Not that it anyone's beeswax why someone buys more than one copy of the same movie but, yeah, there ARE other reasons

I've bought a couple of dupe discs before if I've really loved a film (and, I suppose, if it's relatively obscure), so I totally get it in more extreme examples, although Fright Night as a film isn't exactly rare to buy in this format any more (if indeed we're simply talking about the main feature itself and being able to continue with a physical copy should anything happen to the original). Each to their own, and all that.

On a side note, I never fully understand the 'none of your business' argument in a forum that invites user-to-user discussion(s).

Exactly. I have a handful of duplicate copies of cherished films for just such an occurrence. Don't forget that this is a limited edition that has sold out, it's not like you can just hop on to Amazon and buy another if your "main" copy gets broken or stolen. It may seem paranoid, but, hey, most of us here are pretty geeky in that regards and I have had it happen back in the DVD days when a disk got stolen and it was out of print - it was a double-blow as I wasn't able to replace it plus I no longer had the privilege of being able to sell it on E-bay for a profit if I wanted to. Ouch!

The only sealed TT movies I have are those I later scored autographed copies of. I plan to sell them when I get the chance.

only down side to this is, people used to do this with dvd's also. And now they just sold those 'collectors' sealed copies for a few bucks to upgrade to the blu-ray version(s)
I understand the thought, but how often does it really happen that a disc gets damaged?
I have never damaged a dvd. And damaging a blu-ray is even harder.
And if the blu-ray rots, the sealed copy will probably also rot.

It's just being a bit overprotective if you ask me.

Certainly nothing wrong with ordering a backup copy and keeping it sealed. For those rare/expensive titles I have though, I prefer to simply keep an ISO backup instead. But I'm totally good with anyone buying extras for any reason other than scalping. Optical disc needs more of those kinds of people and frankly Blu-ray is also about collecting and the physical aspect of it, and not just buying it for the movie itself. It's for both. Lots of Steelbook collectors out there for example. It's all good and it helps keep future catalog releases coming.

I "collect" movies I love and want to watch a lot so I can see them whenever I want at the highest quality. This doesn't extend to caring about packaging that much, or wanting "sealed copies" and whatnot. There's different levels of collecting, and different reasons for doing so.

I have a friend who plays guitar in a band and he owns like 10 guitars, but he always plays the same one. He owns the others just to have them. Humans are odd!

Don't care about scalpers or the people who whine about them. It just doesn't matter.

That's the main purpose, but many also enjoy it for collecting aspect. More power to them since they can enjoy their collection in more ways than one. Myself I have only a mild enjoyment for the collecting/packaging aspect compared to many here (mainly for Criterion titles).
