If you have Fu Manchu or Columbia Noir 1 you know what to expect.
The Fu Manchu set is taller than the Indicator Dietrich one.

I had no idea it'd ever changed from the 2006 version. Guess they're just similar enough that I never noticed, although I didn't even start collecting films until post-2012 so I have no idea how I was so familiar with the old one.

I don't have many BFI box sets, but of the ones I have:

(1) Both the Dreyer and Preminger noir sets have "flimsy" slipcases with the discs in slim cases.

(2) The Kore-eda set also has slim cases for the discs, but had a good, solid slipcase.

(3) The Play for Today set (which just came in the post today) also has a good, solid slipcase, and the discs (4) are in two regular Scanavo cases.

Actually, per the 1996 caption in your link: “Despite the change as well as its eventual breakup in 2012, this logo is still used by Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Universal Music Group.”

Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is the Australian joint venture, it shouldn’t be on the back of a UK Blu-ray box.

If you don't mind waiting an age for delivery, the Dietrich set is available from rarewaves.com for a shade under £25 with a code.

Thanks for the heads up. That's very tempting. However half my order from Rarewaves which was made a month ago still hasn't arrived, while the ones that did have cracked cases, so I'm now a bit wary about them.

The Fuller and Columbia Noir #1 sets are taller than the Dietrich one too. So presumably the Dietrich is the odd one out of the lot of them, a few millimetres shorter than the others!

EDIT: I'm aware the Fuller one is Scanavo cases like most of the box sets, but the Columbia Noir is closer to Dietrich than even Fu Manchu, I think, given it has the same number of digipacks.

I don't know this for a fact but I suspect the new BFI Dietrich set is another Nick Wrigley design. He's done a lot (if not all?) of Indicator's releases and has done work for the BFI before.

. I placed an order with them about a month ago for three titles. They were shipped separately. The first two arrived after three weeks (a day apart), and the third arrived after four weeks (yesterday). All were in perfect condition.

All things considered -- especially that their shipping cost was a drop in the bucket compared to everyone else over there except Eureka ($7.00 for the order) -- a month isn't a problem for me. At first, it was annoying that they sent the three titles separately, but on the other hand, if any managed to go astray in transit, they'd only have to replace that one title, instead of the entire thing.

Blimey, some bargains to be had. I grabbed Mademoiselle, Scandal, The Guinea Pig, Pocketful of Miracles, and After the Fox. Might go in for a few more...I already got the Napoleon set recently, and annoyingly I already paid about £10 for a few of these in the last HMV offer. Oh well!

Yes i recently bought Scandal, Cyrano de Bergerac, Equus and Funeral Parade of Roses for very good prices but they have now all dropped to £5.99!
Mind you these sales are most welcome now there is a crapshoot with booklets for BFI titles.
