As I said above, I've emailed them multiple times and tweeted them multiple times to absolutely no response over the past month.

Guess nobody works there anymore.

Maybe try bfishop@bfi.org.uk again ? I've e-mailed them four times over the past 12 months (the most recent was last month) and they replied the same day three times and the following day the remaining time.

Well the BFI Shop query is no longer relevant, I ordered elsewhere.

I'm currently trying to ascertain what the deal is with the Sight and Sound Android app, which is linked on their website but it's just a 404 error.

Well it installs.

Weird. I did a search in the Play Store and it wouldn't show up.

I contacted them at the weekend about the Sight and Sound app (I was unable to log in) and was told that there is an error of which they are aware and are working on. No timeline given for a fix.

If you have Facebook, maybe try messaging Ben Stoddart since maybe they only have 1 person approving new users. Though I'm in the group, I notice there have been no new members in the last week or month to the BFI DVD & BluRay group.

Many thanks for this. Great to finally see it with some level of detail present.

Just had my FB group request accepted, worth checking your notifications! Maybe someone gave Ben a nudge.

I've still received no response via email or Twitter, but I was able to subscribe to S&S and the app linked by jhm works. No idea why it doesn't show up in the Play Store and it's 404'd on their website.

It's probably because the IT of every arm of the BFI appears to have been put into the hands of people out of their brains on clarky cats.

That was me. He said that he's not in charge but he let a colleague know. I guess that got the ball rolling on accepting new members again.

Do all new BFI releases come in Criterionesque Scanavo cases? Not that it would matter much, because I'll certainly buy Faithless either way, I'm just curious. Also, do we know something about their third UHD?

Thank you for the help!

Yes on all titles since roughly the start of 2020 if I recall correctly. So far, the only exception (due to a printing issue - likely just printing the wrong size insert) so far has been Salaam Bombay!.

Piccadilly also has a standard case.

It was actually down to a shortage of scanavo cases.

The reissue of Invasion of the Body Snatchers sans booklet also comes in a clear Viva case I believe.
