Default Autumn Afternoon replacement?

I realize this is years later, but I am just finding out about this: apparently the first pressing of BFI's An Autumn Afternoon was given a replacement disc due to authoring issues.

1. How do I identify if I have the corrected disc?

2. Any possibility the replacement program is still in effect?

Thanks

...or, should I Just pick up the Criterion disc (I am in the USA)? I don't care for the color on the CC caps I've seen, but in general I'm more concerned about resolution and accurate grain rendering.

I personally felt the Criterion offered a more refined looking image than the BFI disc (comparing screen caps).

Back in the day I wrote a note to myself for when I finally get around to watching mine: "make sure bitrate is (much) higher than 13.8…"

That was over 10 years ago now…

So if you're buying new you should be fine.

With her determination to sell off the costs the taxpayer absolutely nothing and operating with a surplus Channel 4 for small change so it can 'compete with' the never made a profit and carrying billions in debt Netflix being the model, they'll probably end up selling it to STX or Mario Kassar.

The review is looking at 295 “arms length” bodies that between them spend £220 billion a year.

The BFI is one of those and gets a fraction of that money, so not a big spender and not an obvious target. I hope it survives, but comparing this review to Nazism is just ridiculous.

I wouldn't trust this Government to organise a piss up in a brewery.

I mean we’re just over a decade since they liquidated the UK Film Council (which wound up collapsing into the BFI), whilst it’s pretty early days, you can bet anything relating to arts or culture is high on the list for the chop, if not argued for it’s lack of necessity, than the fact that it’s the most vocal and commercial forms to critique any current administration.

And you can take Channel 4 getting privatised as a form of foreshadowing how these cuts will go down.

On the absolute contrary, it's the one thing that they've shown themselves to be extremely capable of doing throughout lockdown and at all points west under the expert eye of a lying incompetent and cashiered wh*remonger.

The old disc is only 14GB. The replacement disc is 24GB.
Email Ben.Stoddart@bfi.org.uk for a replacement.

Targets won't be released in June...

The BFI have announced:
Quote:
We are sorry to announce that our planned release of Peter Bogdanovich's Targets is being suspended, due to on-going issues regarding the materials required for the release.
We sincerely apologise for the disappointment this news will bring but feel this decision is necessary in to order to maintain the quality and integrity customers should expect from the BFI label.
We do still hope to release the title on Blu-ray at some point in the future but are currently unable to confirm when this will be. Further announcements will be made once the situation becomes clearer.
All customers who have pre-ordered via the BFI Shop will be contacted and receive a full refund.
Thank you for you continued support of the label.

That’s pretty disappointing news, I know we all anticipated it, but it looks like the whole release is up in the air now.
