I hope so too, but seeing the yellow-tealish cover art for the upcoming release, I wouldn't hold my breath.

It'll probably be the same master that Criterion used for their Blu.

The latest master for L'Argent has already been released by Criterion and it has has Eclair's distinctive grading applied. I'm not sure if it is un-doable but I doubt the BFI are going to try.

Hopefully Gaumont's release their restoration of The Devil Probably soon (already out in Japan) and get around to restoring Les anges du péché - it baffles me that that's somehow avoided a release here since the days of VHS.

Anyone who is considering the BFI blu of Truffaut's The 400 Blows containing his short film Les Mistons (1957) might be interested to know it also features as a special feature in the The François Truffaut Collection blu boxset from Artificial Eye, specifically on the disc, A Gorgeous Girl Like Me.

I'll gladly take them if they're going! Been meaning to sub to it, would be nice to have some back issues.

amazon January 2019. Just checked, ebay uk has it new for £40. For 8 cracking films that's still great value for an OOP item.

I had a dream a few nights ago that the BFI announced a Blu-ray release of The Devils.

I had a dream the other night that Kino released The Bride Wore Black on 4K UHD, but then I also had a nightmare about eating my Second Run collection so take it with a pinch of salt.

I dreamt Ken Russell was bouncing on a trampoline while singing Give that wolf a banana as part of his campaign to be mayor of Tower Hamlets. I just took it as a warning not to mix Eurovision and Welsh rarebit.
