In case anyone else was curious, I ordered from Amazon and it came with the booklet. The price was good enough I didn’t mind too much either way, but happy to have it because it turns out to be a pretty substantial one (plenty of text, as you’d expect from the BFI)

Wow, that NbM disc is STACKED. Shame they couldn't get any involvement from Kathy Burke, I would pay good money for that.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I was also wanting something from her...

Echoing how stacked NBM is - but am I reading right that its book isn't limited to first pressing? How is it that Draughtsman's Contract's booklet is, but the other isn't (and twice the length)? Just curious what the selection process is.

My original notes for this has it as a limited edition 2-disc set. Most likely when it becomes a 1-disc re-release there will then be no booklet. Just a guess, and assuming it is the 2-disc set.

BFI aren't still putting extras on a dvd are they? Aren't we past that?

Not necessarily - the extras on Get Carter are on a second Blu-ray disc. Nothing to suggest Draughtsman's Contract will have an extras-only DVD accompaniment.

Both listings on the BFI's store state that these are '2-Disc Blu-ray' releases.

"Queen of Scots" delivered from Amazon a day ago still has booklet. Available slightly cheaper rarewaves, which likely won't have it. The booklet is quite small, nice to have but not amazing.

I beg to differ. With the very, very, rare exception of Bait, I wouldn't worry about many of their titles being booklet-less for at least a year after release.

I'm deliberating on whether to buy Mary, Queen of Scots from Amazon at current price, so that's useful to know about the booklet.

It was only that it was a pre-order at rarewaves, which suggested a new batch, but don't know for sure.

Fair enough. I had a similar reaction when Faithless was placed as a pre-order, but I gather it's only a fault on the listing.

Fortunately for me I particularly like Richard Widmark films, so had picked this one up cheap sometime ago.

If you have a region-free player the Criterion edition is still in print.

We've already had this discussion; I'm not region-locked but I had the BFI noted down as preferable between the two. A UK user found a copy at CEX and has sent it my way.

I have been hoping they might give us some UHD Greenaway but I spose Draftmans Contract being 16mm shot(and less heavy on the colour/contrast than his latter work) perhaps isnt as essential for that.

Any of the Sacha Vierney films would be an insta-buy from me, but particularly A Zed & Two Noughts and The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, & Her Lover are some of my dream UHD releases—along with the likes of Pather Panchali and Marienbad (weird SC haven't done that yet tbh).
