At the end of the serial I think. You should just check that thread instead of asking for every detail in this one.

Plus they're cheaper at the moment.
And the German Fury came in a FATTY!

I've never seen a German fat case before. Thanks, Sony

It was also brown, which is just weird.

I think SONY Germany thought it was supposed to look like a tank and a slim case wouldn't cut it!

I am indeed!!

And even more than that, I'm enjoying the utter silence from all our critics.

I'm just torn now between ordering the German or UK releases of THE INTERVIEW and waiting for a US replacement disc. Part of me fears the corrected discs may not last forever for some reason and that I should snap one up now.

Was Troop Beverly Hills and My Girl fixed outside of the US?

Someone just reported that the Australian BD of The Interview is region free. It's otherwise identical to the German BD.

(I've updated the OP with notations for corrected releases so far.)

I don't think any of the catalog titles have been corrected, just the new releases, because they all had foreign versions coming out months after the US versions, which gave Sony time to fix them.

Doesn't really matter at this point. Sony has issued BD discs of Fury, The Interview, and Annie w/o black crush in Germany. Some of these are being released in the UK and Australia, too.

It does matter. I've bought and sold a U.S copy The Interview due to this issue, I simply couldn't enjoy the movie. Might have had something to do with the film itself also. But it would be interesting to understand which release they are admitting the issue on.

My fury from the states wasn't noticeable. I'll have a look at that again.

Quite obviously Fury, The Interview, and Annie.

As others have surmised, these were easier to fix since they hadn't been released yet in some countries. The catalog titles and Sex Tape will be longer shots.

Thanks everyone for all the great contributions in this thread, specially James Luckard and jscoggins!

To add some information to this thread, I checked the recently released Sony Brazilian discs for Fury and The Interview and they are also fixed and region A.

I'll check Annie soon, but I think it's also fixed up.

BTW, does anyone else also thinks the original Annie is affected?
I don't think it's one of the worst offenders, but it looks kinda like Troop Beverly Hills and My Girl.

Actually, I think some other recent Sony catalogs might have it to some degree. Titles iike: The Remains of the Day, The Age Of Innocence, Christine and Ghostbusters 4k.

Ghostbusters 4k

(the whole left side of the image is severelly affected)

Annie (1982)

The Remains of the Day

(the DVD also seems affected)

You're right, Ghostbusters 4K looks like crap.

I never liked the transfer of the stand-alone release, but that was before we really started talking about black crush.

However, I think Sony also released it a second time as a Mi4K BD. Is that one fixed?
