Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Very true; no major movie for a long while. And theaters with Air Conditioning are perfect for 'Top Gun: Maverick' all summer long.

No doubt; Maverick is aiming for even bigger...'Avengers 3' by August 21st (@ the latest).
And then the cherry on top ... 'Black Panther' by October 9th (@ the very latest).

And then it should excel with streaming, Digital copies, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray sales.
And there's also the merchandises; coffee mugs, t-shirts, aviator jackets, Maverick posters, Maverick cereals, Maverick cookies, Maverick ice-cream, Maverick Lego F-18 fighter jets, figurines, plane models, stickers, hats, keychains, etc., etc., etc.

@ the end of the tunnel Maverick will most likely be worth over two US billion dollars globally.
Not bad for a Tom Cruise flick, not bad @ all. And the pandemic is far from being over; it might never truly end.

Streaming, VOD, ... the dates, ... it's all confusing with this super high flying flick.

Back in July 19:

"While we do not yet know when the film will be coming to a streaming service, we do know that Top Gun Maverick is coming to VOD on August 23. So you will be able to rent it at home at that time if you want to avoid the theater." - IGN

And, from August 8:

"In July, Prime Video listed an August 23 release for the movie, but that date has since been removed." - Business Insider

* Maverick will still be playing in theaters for the next couple months or so, perhaps more.
And Tom Cruise is not stupid; he knows the financial value of this baby today, and tomorrow. As a matter of fact tomorrow it's back in IMAX and other PLF screens across the lands and the oceans.

Cruise is going after 'Black Panther' ... for the top #5 spot (all-time domestic).
With a well planned strategy, some maths, and a bit of patience ... it'll get there and it'll surpass it ($700.5 million).

That's my best guess ... what's yours?

One thing is fo shure: For a long time here @ Blu-ray forum, Penton-Man did a magnificent job in educating us on Top Gun: Maverick. Kudos to this very generous, patient, top human being of knowledge, talent, respect and much more. Wherever you are and do Penton I'm thinking about you every couple days, and your excellent dedicated experienced wife in her own right and domain expertise.

So perhaps no one could have anticipated where we are now, but some people are hard working behind the scenes to make it happens, Tom Cruise included.

You gotta flow with the glow and glide along the valleys and mountains of human hope.
