Yeah, I am too.Best Buy shipped my Steelbook this morning. I'm much more happy with my purchase after seeing Tyroks picture.

Am I the only one annoyed by people who show pictures without a single word about image quality?

I'm not saying you have to watch it minutes after it arrived, but checking first minutes or skipping few chapters to give us something instead of nothing would be nice

Holy crap this disc is amazing.

Could not believe the amount of detail revealed in this transfer. Colors are superb and lighting is quite natural, HDR is very well implemented. Despite it's age, cgi holds up pretty well. Audio is impressive too. Seriously, this disc is stellar and an upgrade in every possible way.

Sadly, the regular BD is the same as the old release. It's clearly not from the same master as the UHD since the color grading is quite different and it has a lot of imperfections. It even has the Marauder trailer attached to it.

Crappy pics that don't really show how great the picture quality is:

I can't wait for the Steelbook to arrive next week (hopefully early). Starship Troopers is one of my all time favorite books. The movie came out when I was in high school and always brings me back to the good old days with my buds.

Thanks for the grim news about the 1080p blu. I suppose no remaster will mean the ol' Blu-ray Live bug on the original disc still persists, as well. Looks like I'll be going the UK route for the better encode. Ridiculous.

By the way, any indication the UHD version could be based on the same master used for the first blu-ray, albeit cleaned and regraded, upscaled from what I would assume is a 2K master given the amount of visual effects present?

This is not from a 2K master. DIs didn't exist until the early 2000s. This is photochemically developed film - a true 4K source.
