We have the equipment! We have the technology! We need UHD!

I couldn't resist.

Let's hope they don't screw up the video like the US BD release. Had to buy the UK version to avoid the repeating sequence.

I am totally down for a 4K release of Starship troopers! Just bury the sequels in a dark deep hole.

Bought this on laserdisc. Upgraded to the DVD. Upgraded that to the blu-ray. I will be upgrading to the UHD.

Oh yes.

Not sure if I ever had the LD, but at various points I had the original R1 DVD, then the Superbit, then the 2-disc SE, then the US Blu-ray, then the UK Blu-ray. (Thankfully this was released late enough in the VHS/LD home video cycle to have avoided multiple dips on those formats, unlike some other movies I could mention.)

And I will pay any price to have this piece of classic Verhoeven buffed up real nice and pretty in 4K.

I think I would much rather have the 4k restoration of RoboCop on UHD Blu-ray with DV mastering. Never really got into ST.

Now, I'd buy that for a dollar! Heh heh heh!!

Hell, let's just bring all that Hollywood Verhoeven magic to UHD - RoboCop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Showgirls, Starship Troopers. Love 'em all.

I would kill to see an unrated cut of 'Total Recall' but I think all the excised gore/ultra violence truly no longer exists [the escalator scene I remember reading went on a lot longer and bloodier]

I'd love an unrated Total Recall maybe, but man it's pretty gory already.

I'm sure many will shout me down but I would love to see the Total Recall remake on UHD too. It's nowhere near as good as the first but it's a fun little sci-fi action movie with lovely visuals that could shine in HDR. Plus it's a 4k master.

I'd love to see it too! I think it'd be a killer UHD.

It's too old to have a DI so Sony will probably create a new 4k master. I expect it to look great - but not in scenes with CGI.

Thankfully a ton of Starship Troopers is done in miniature, so it'll look great!

Agreed, but only if it includes the extended cut (which it won't).
