I recently saw it digitally projected in a state-of-the-art cinema. To answer your question, not very well. There are numerous bug shots that look pretty heinous in a large-screen presentation. The physical models and practical VFX shots hold up well though.

Oh good point, I have only ever seen the longer BD cut. If the differences are significant then I'd likely pass for that reason. Same with The Wolverine.

They eventually released a fixed version in the USD. I own it.

I'm sure many will shout me down but I would love to see the Total Recall remake on UHD too. It's nowhere near as good as the first but it's a fun little sci-fi action movie with lovely visuals that could shine in HDR. Plus it's a 4k master.
Agreed. The visuals in that film were very impressive and could look fantastic on UHD. It wasn't nearly as bad as it's reputation would suggest. The original is certainly better of course.

Is it SONY's practice to provide a remastered blu with their 4K releases?

If they put a remastered blu-ray on the same date then you get that one. If they don't then you get the standard blu-ray.

Thanks, I'll be watching the listings. I held off on this one thinking it the next, obvious choice for SONY's 'Mastered in 4K' line...but then actual 4K came along. Here's hoping they seize the UHD opportunity to move additional 1080p units.

i see this was originally 1st listed by VideoETA, and FYI, they were the 1st place to also break the news of the Hunger Games series too because it was in their database.

According to VideoETA, this is the Amazon link for the 4K UHD release. ASIN B07288ZGX7. Still without a pre-order option though.

So has it been confirmed whether it's the 1997 Paul Verhoeven movie or the 2017 animation movie? Or are both coming to UHD this autumn?

Okay.

I ask this because on a Dutch release list, the 2017 animation movie is listed for a 11 October release while on some German site, it is listed for a 21 September release. No word on the 1997 movie on either site though. Hopefully they're wrong cause I really want the Paul Verhoeven movie anyway.

Steelbook available for pre-order on Best Buy. They have the release date as September 19 (not September 5 as earlier reported).
