At this point it makes total sense that it will happen. Disney World plans to re-open in a few weeks but there's no way that is happening. They are sending all of their college student program castmembers home and they are the bulk of their staff which means this is going to be a long time.

Illinois just did, and Ohio looks to be headed that way as well.

My two jobs are 1) Delivery Driver for Auto parts and 2) FedEx Package Handler, and I have a bad feeling that neither job is gonna do anything but make me work longer hours thru this.

I've had a cold for weeks cause both jobs are at Christmas level hours right now, and I'm working like 15 hours a day between the two of them. I cough and everyone looks over at me with death in their eyes.

Im a Fed Ex package handler and they haven't said a word to us about this whole thing.

I was supposed to go in tomorrow morning to have labs drawn at my local clinic, and I've got to say - I'm enjoying that idea even less than usual. (Stress + Blood Draw = Me passing out. )

It's so true. Jobs tell you to stay home if you're sick but then they fire your ass if you miss more than 4 or 5 days every couple of months.

Italy on Sunday reported its biggest one-day increase in cases and deaths throughout the coronavirus outbreak.

Italy recorded 3,590 cases and 398 deaths in a 24 hour period, Italy's Civil Protection chief Angelo Borelli announced Sunday, The Associated Press reported. In total, the country has confirmed more than 24,700 cases and more than 1,800 deaths.

That's not really how it works. Do you think the flu season is all year round too? Why doesn't your example work there? Everyone knows the flu dies down tremendously in Spring/Summer months, so why is that? There are a ton of factors here, and there is absolutely no way right now to declare whether it has seasonality or not. Three other human coronaviruses do have winter seasonality, so there is precedence for it.

It's not just "hot weather" though that would weaken the virus, and reduce transmission. It's multiple things, including the length of the day, the amount of sunlight or UV light (which absolutely kills viruses like COVID-19), and even changes in humidity. All things that occur during Summer months. It's those things rather than just the weather change that affect the seasonality of viruses.

Obviously, it's still spreading right now in places where it is Summer, like Australia, so that's not promising, but the spread in southern hemisphere countries do not seem to be as pervasive as northern ones from what I'm seeing. Only time will tell here..

Wow just got word that my aunt has been in contact with someone who's got a confirmed case of the virus. She does physical therapy with the elderly and has been working with this patient in their home. Then one of my cousins has been in Italy since last year for school and recently came home and has been self quarantining.

My job location got picked as a hub along with 6 other locations in case they have to close all the other ones. I deal with the public as that's the primary aspect of my job. This is really ticking me off because if they close the other ones, what makes those employees health more important than mine? I will have to cross that bridge if it comes to it and make a decision.

Also as others have mentioned myself and my bf were both extremely sick mid-January. We were both told it was the flu however neither one of us has ever been that bad before. We were both out of work for a full week and had to call the doctor multiple times and even get a chest X-ray. Maybe a coincidence maybe not. I know that my main issue was that I had a extremely hard time breathing.
