On the other hand, for those recordable media shooters out there not holding onto the back of a motorcycle with only their knees and looking to attend the upcoming Expo in LA, an early heads up and filling in some of the below blanks on Cine Gear Friday …..http://www.cinegearexpo.com/la-expo-premier-series

Friday, June 2nd | Sherry Lansing Theater |4:30pm – 5:30pm Demystifying Log vs. Linear, the power of 16 bit, and High Dynamic Range Acclaimed instructor and DoP Alister Chapman will separate the myths from the realities of a 16-bit workflow.

While always highly desirable, 16-bit has long been considered cumbersome and difficult to manage. Now, since the introduction of X-OCN - Sony’s easy-to-work with 16-bit linear recording format – it’s as easy to work with as conventional 10-bit codecs. Discover unique features of the F55 and R7 recorder such as 4K recording at 120fps. Compare log and linear recordings and how the extra information improves image quality, especially for HDR productions. Learn how to best expose 16-bit as well as S-Log2 / S-Log3. Discover how to get HDR low noise images that grade easily.

Explore the benefits of linear content in post-production and how color managed workflows, including ACES, makes working with Sony’s RAW and X-OCN easy. Examine how the F55’s extended color gamut brings an HDR production to life.

Thank you

Bob / LordoftheRings, I don't have a website.
I only use "free.fr" to store my pics.

A propos, ton français est parfait !
I am French, Canadian. That is my main native tongue.

* I asked @ another site if people could see your four pictures, I received a reply within 30 minutes saying no. So I am not alone in not seeing them. And I also cannot see them on my android and neither on my tablet, in addition to my PCs and my laptop.

Ce n'est pas important Daniel, ce n'était qu'une simple observation.

Cheers,
_____

EDIT :: This was the question I asked @ another site:

I would love to know. If yes, can you help me in seeing them? ...Because I tried everything but without any success. Thank you.
I spent a considerable amount of time searching the reason why I cannot see those four pictures. Am I alone in not seeing them?"
And this was the reply I got roughly thirty minutes later (slow traffic site):

I noticed that my 2016 samsung UHD TV, has a new update (1500.3 usb download only at the moment) that finally allows HDR on netflix. Curious to know if that update includes HLG support so we can see BBC iplayers UHD test footage.

Are you sure you meant 2016? The 2016 should all be on firmware 1169, or 1170, which came out yesterday (only for the Korean and North American models.) The 2016 models have had HDR support for Netflix for a while now, and yes, they support HLG as well.

yes sorry its the 2015 models, the only ones that support HDR and 3D.

Mind you my UBD-K8500 bluray player only supported Netflix HDR due to a very short release of a firmware.

and here is the BBC "Replying to @disrember
Hi Iain, no timescale just yet, but we are aware of interest in this. Info on our 4K Planet Earth II trial here: http://bbc.in/2gQBlve"

If I ever speak to you or Dan, in person rather than just PM, I think/hope I can correctly pronounce with a decent accent ‘Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé' (http://www.businesswire.com/news/hom...0526005198/en/ ). Meanwhile, if any of you SoCal U.S. folks are followers of the professional movie reviewer Yehya ….

and desire to know where to go in thee O.C. to see the movie in DV, I have to say that this Dolby Cinema installation at thee AMC Orange 30 turned out rather quite well since the exclusive Blu-ray.com forum heads up progress reports of the past.

War Machine (a Netflix original movie based on US Army General Stanley McChrystal, starring Brad Pitt) has some incredible looking HDR. Unfortunately, the movie kind of sucks.

I don't watch anywhere near enough Netflix to pay them extra every month for 4k, sadly.

Completely agree. It's a snoozer. Quite possibly 1 of netflixs best looking moves though.

I haven’t seen it, but as to a little background on the topic of ordering young men and women into harm’s way of the longest war (16 years?) in American history, I do remember Rachel interviewing the lady, Elise Jordon, who was once married to the now deceased author of the book and therefore in her husband’s absence, provided insights.

Food for thought on this Memorial Day weekend…..http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/w...y-952942147878

P.S.
Additionally, to this bio on Rachel - http://www.msnbc.com/the-rachel-madd...ddow-biography , I was quite happy to see that for the month of April, MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show became the top-rated show on all of cable news with viewers age 25-54.

The demo of the shot taken from the cave WOW. I saw this playing a Best Buy in February. It was so 3D looking it took 10 minutes and two BB employees to get my jaw up off the floor.

Until this year’s upcooming Cine Gear, I admit I’d never heard of Blood Road (scroll down past the Guardians spiel for the particulars). BR shot on Red and mastered in 4K. (not HDR though)

elaborating a bit on the first bullet point of thee above ^ post -
like this little gadget (costing only about $50) for determining good exposure for optimal HDR acquisition (of course, as long as you're on set and not flying around in a helicopter)……

Used in conjunction with a much more expensive (than the gadget) monitor…..

In various ways….
