Anyone know why Revenge of the Sith doesn't have an Irish Film Classification when every single other Star Wars release does?
Really stands out when you have them all lined up together on a shelf. |

It was rated PG. Maybe they're not allowed to put a lower certificate than the UK rating on the cover.

I only realised that the separate releases were out this week. I managed to order the first 6 films in 2D ok with slips from Amazon. I had to order them 2 at a time though as the offer would only work once. They all came together in one package.
I have the original Rey trilogy releases and Rogue One, Solo. I am trying to convince myself I don't need the others in same slip. They don't look too bad together. |

At least the 2011 versions can get the colour grading better. A couple of the fans have also done a better job in this area than Disney have done.

Can someone please confirm whether the non-4K individual releases are the 2011 or 2020 masters? There's a post on here saying that Episode IV is definitely the 2020 master, yet on the Original Trilogy forum they say they're the 2011 master. There must be a definitive answer to this...

The Original and Prequel separate releases (black covers) are newer masters, if they're the new Lucasfilm Ltd. releases. The prequel discs aren't hugely noticeable apart from The Phantom Menace, unless you spot that the new ones are 2.39:1 compared to the 2.35:1 of the 2011 discs (so you lose height information with the new discs). The differences are quite apparent with the original trilogy movies. Even though the 2020 discs are new, I think the masters themselves predate the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney (at least in the case of the Original Trilogy). |

Though having said that, I currently have Disney+ and as far I can tell I'm streaming in HD through my NowTV box and these are more-or-less the same masters as the BDs aren't they? |

I am more of a physical media rather than digital media person and I'd like to actually own the best versions available rather than rely on it being available digitally, but the reality is that if I want to watch a Star Wars right now I'll just stream it through D+ rather than get a BD out. I know the new releases have a few new featurettes for I-VI but not convinced they are worth the outlay. Would people agree that as long as I have D+ there really isn't any point buying the new standalone blu rays? |

I don’t know what the streaming quality is like on Disney +, but theoretically, the Blu-rays should look and sound better (certainly in terms of compression), but the Disney + versions might be good enough for you. Last edited by Indiana Jonezzz...; 09-21-2020 at 09:28 PM. |

2.39:1 is often 'rounded down' to 2.35:1. Particularly for domestic consumption. Last edited by Ste7en; 09-22-2020 at 08:38 AM. |

I really only bought the prequels even though I have the 2011 set because of the 2 for £15. I suppose I could have just bought Phantom Menace but it would look odd without the other two. If it was 3 for 2, I think I would have bought just the original trilogy.
I don't do streaming or 4K so these discs will do for me. |
