Trying not to fall into the YT trap by clicking on one video after the other. Checking out some Delta Force and Navy Seal interviews. Not looking for combat footage or anything like that.

Watched Suicide Squad tonight so will check out the FAQ's and boards at IMDb as well as here.

Just finished eating my carb-loading meal after FINALLY finishing an attempt at a 19-20 mile run with no walking. Was considering stretching it a bit further but my lungs and my legs were just about done so I stopped instead and came home. Joints are less sore than they were the last two times I did this, definitely see that as a good sign with about 2 more months to go before my first marathon.

You ran 19 or 20 miles today? Are you
[Show spoiler]no curse words
crazy How long did it take you? Did you take off from the house and run around the neighborhood or did you drive somewhere and go running?

Just making the rounds here at BR. Will also check the news at MSN. I still haven't read about Michael Sheen leaving Hollywood. Will also check the BO totals at IMDb and check out some YT videos.
Oh yeah, and I'll try and pay a bit of attention to the Raiders game.

I did what I normally do when I run outside on Sundays. I drove to the local multi-purpose trail. I ran from one intersection all the way down to a Wal-Green's and back twice. Not crazy, determined. 19.65 miles is nice but I want to get to 20+, this is training for a marathon after all. This is the third time I've actually attempted to run that exact distance. Two Sundays ago I was interrupted by a sudden desire to visit the toilet. Last Sunday I ran out of breath and my legs started getting really sore so I had to walk about 20% of the way. Today I ran there and back the whole way, the only thing I can think of is last week I had no carbs for breakfast so my body decided to punish me, not making that mistake again. I did it in 2:46, I think with more training and a bit of luck I will be able to run a marathon in...3.5 hours. Definitely need to train more first and increase my endurance more before that mid-February run. Some people think I'm nuts for going straight from a 10K to a marathon but come on, if I can already run almost 20 miles and I have 2 months to get better, it will be fine.

lol I think you're nuts period Where are you from again? I thought I saw you mention New Mexico recently. I actually purchased $120 running shoes last year before my vacation with the intention of running on a regular basis but I only used them about 5 times lol I actually went to a running store and have them do the gait analysis and everything. I wanted to get my stamina up a bit in case I would do a lot of hiking in The Alps. As it turns out, I didn't really do any. lol about having a desire to visit the toilet. Were you able to use a tree or did you have to visit a stall? That would have sucked if you had to run around finding a public restroom hahaha

I went into Wally World LOL yeah. For some reason whenever I run at least 6 miles I end up needing to use the toilet. I just forgot that day because the run came at the tail end of my trip to Minnesota and I was tired. Definitely hope I don't make that mistake on the day of the marathon, no way I want to stop for anything but water breaks to stay hydrated and keep my lungs from giving out before I cross the finish line. $120 running shoes? I have 5 pair. 2 for the gym only, 2 for normal running and 1 for trail running, spent about $50 on each pair. I don't want to spend a lot on them because running shoes tend to be good for about 500 miles running outside and then you have to get more. Yeah, I live in southern New Mexico, my first marathon will be in El Paso at 7 AM though. Going to have to get up super early for that and due to the early start, probably have to wear running pants and a windbreaker.

What do you mean your run came at the end of a Minnesota trip? Yeah let's hope you don't find yourself having to go during the marathon. That would make for a good story though Yeah I wanted to make sure I got shoes that would be best for me. I'm sure the wrong shoes can lead to injuries so I wanted to be safe. They had me jog right there in the store and had me jump on the treadmill and filmed me and then did comparisons on a computer. It was quite interesting. And most shoes are good for about 500 miles? lol one pair would last me 5 lifetimes!
And your first marathon will be in Texas, or is there an El Paso in New Mexico?

My first marathon will be in El Paso TX yeah, which is about an hour away. So I will have to get up at 4, eat and then rush down there to be there in time for check in and stretching prior to a 26.2 mile run. Also going to do a marathon in June in Ruidoso but I'm guessing I will need to stay overnight in Ruidoso for that one so I can be up in time for the run. We will see how my lungs handle running at that elevation, the other challenge will be the rocky terrain. They filmed you running on a treadmill? That's nuts, I would be way too self-conscious for that. Oh the wrong shoes can lead to injuries absolutely, thankfully I haven't hurt myself yet with all these runs and weight-lifting, just a lot of soreness.

And you said the El Paso marathon will be your first one? When is it? That's going to be a long day with having to get up so early. I bet it will be a blast though. Yeah, it's funny because I had never really ran on a treadmill before. I was always afraid of falling off haha Yeah you would get up on the treadmill and there was a camera mounted behind you. You could then watch yourself run on the computer and they could bring up videos to play side by side so you could compare your steps while wearing different shoes. He said I am a heel striker and that I should focus on landing on my midfoot. Is that what you do? I tried that the first time I went out running and my calves were freaking done!!! I mean they got lit up lol It was like doing one long set of calf raises.

February 19 I believe so I have plenty of time to get my endurance up so I can run like I ran at my last 10K, which was just over 7.5 minute miles. Actually I doubt I'll be able to do that at that distance but we'll see, 2 months is a long time. I'm really amazed at how far I've come with running, especially since I only started (I believe) at the tail end of June. I remember my sister said we should become running buddies and do half-marathons together and I said no way, I can barely do 4 miles. Guess I was born to run. I don't think I'm a heel striker, I seem to generally land on my toes, which seems like the natural way to land while running anyway.

Do you go to running message boards? I go to a tennis message boards. Tennis requires quite a bit of stamina so that was another reason I took up running for those few weeks lol Let's see how long you can stick with it. Why do they call them 5Ks or 10Ks or whatever, when we use miles here in the States? I've always wondered that. Ok I haven't always wondered it but the thought has crossed my mind before lol
