haha I never listened to the real old stuff and I've never listened to hip hop on the radio. In my heavy days, I was always listening to CDs. You're from the South so you must like that crunk musack

i still remember the very first time i ever heard grandmaster flash. i remember where i was, what i was doing, who was there....everything.

and i remember that when i got back home (was on vacation) i went out and bought the cassette and wore it out.

i already had the first run dmc tape and played the hell out of that one. then grandmaster flash and the furious five, then whodini, etc....

THAT was real rap and hip hop. they told stories with their craft. and in my opinion, the greatest rap/hip hop song ever created was rapper's delight by the sugarhill gang. to this day, i know every word of that song...and i mean the original, 14-minute+ version, not the heavily cut radio version.
