My mom has knee problems, and no insurance to cover any surgery she might need. Which means she has pain on a daily basis, can't walk or sit for long periods of time, and definitely can't do all-day outings like amusements parks, shopping centers, etc. without intervals of rest. I definitely understand where you guys are coming from.

Unfortunately, this didn't bring good news. She has to have another joint clean out. If that doesn't get rid of her contracture (she cannot fully straighten her leg now because of the prior surgeries) she will have to have total knee replacement. If that doesn't work, so she isn't bound to a wheelchair/walker/crutches when the knee becomes painful/unable to stretch would be to have an amputation of the leg from the knee down. I'm praying to God that doesn't have to happen, but her quality of life would be better than dealing with the now torn up knee if the other three surgeries fail to resolve it or at least make it more manageable.

Sooo, obviously lawyers and everything else being involved is the next step as this all has resulted from medical malpractice.

Your mom will be in my prayers...I hope she has a full recovery, it's a shame that in this day of modern medicine/science malpractice even exists. Of course it really is no surprise in a country where money talks, if you don't have the "right" insurance plan or even enough insurance to pay for something to be done, hospitals will "half-a$$" it.

I agree, you'd think with current tech that there would be less chance of a screwup and more successful procedures would be a common-place. I am out a small fortune on insurance for her and I'm the one who handles all the medical forms and gibberish and it's all just bs by most doctors. The issue here was we didn't even agree for them to cut on her knee and they did it during her first surgery in 2015 and her knee has not been right since. Now...8 surgeries later here we are. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to hospitals in this area. If I'm still here and would get sick...eh, I'll take my chances on my own.

watching tv and resting my ankle.

i was doing some digging (planted some stuff in a bed in the front yard), and i slipped and turned my ankle. it hurt pretty bad when i first did it, but i could still walk on it ok. i finished my digging and planting, took a shower, then went to get an ankle brace. i got a pretty good one with some hard plastic supports on both sides. with it on, i can walk much better and not feel like i'm gonna tip over, lol.
