As someone else said the cut off age is currently 35, I'm 30 and not getting any younger so figure its now or never, plus i could really use the stability on the job front. Regarding the kid, absolutely I would arrange it so she could join me when i finish up trainings, assuming she still wants to live with me at that point.

Ok then you're younger than I thought. So if you do join, how soon will you do it? It's great that you'll get the GI Bill and you'll probably be able to do school while you're in as well. You don't have to wait until you get out.

I wonder if you'll be eligible for any bonuses. I got the impression that they were more common in the army for the other branches. I'm sure that's just because of the commercials.
I don't know though...a single father trying to raise a daughter while he's on active duty. Of course someone would help you when you're away for training or if you go on deployments.
