About to call B&N to see if they price match their own site. I have a feeling they don't. Their in-store ordering system has a book for $25 while their site has it for $17. Amazon has it cheaper yet but I'm good with B&N.

oh, i wish i'd joined the Marines out of high school like i wanted. alas i did not and have now missed my chance. sure i had quite a few years to do it after that, but life got in the way.

lol you didn't miss much. I'll always remember this piece of paper I saw in some office on base in Yuma. Unfortunately I forget what it said No, but it was basically saying that if you want education or job skills or more for a future in the civilian world, join the other branches but if you want to be part of a fighting force, join the Marines. You would just think that while Marines pride ourselves on being warriors, we would also want to be big on education and future job skills lol

I do wish I had picked a different MOS. I thought I was going to do something different but I found out in Boot Camp that I was in avionics. I also found out the day before I went to Boot Camp that I had to sign a five year contract. The recruiter was like, "oh by the way, I need you to sign something..." lol bastard!

Well you can always do both at the same time. I think you get tuition assistance while you're in and then when you get out, as you know, you get to use the GI Bill.

I originally wanted to be flight crew so when I found out while in Boot Camp, that I was going into avionics, I was surprised. While I was attending "A" school in Pensacola, I think we were given the chance to try and get into flight crew but after having heard about SERE school, I decided to pass.

According to wiki:
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) is a program, best known by its military acronym, that provides U.S. military personnel, U.S. Department of Defense civilians, and private military contractors with training in evading capture, survival skills, and the military code of conduct

Not joining the Canadian Forces has always been one of my big regrets.
