If what I've been hearing and seeing lately is any indication, a record number of people are going back to school to get degrees, probably for the same reason I did it. The US really should make it easier to pay for school but that's another one of those things we probably shouldn't delve into too deeply on here.

not that it's any of my business but i'm just curious if you ended up selling your restaurant (or was it yours to begin with?)....

good for you! one of the things i want to achieve for myself is for me to become a chef. i am a great cook, and it'll be great to acquire that "title" and go through the learning process of becoming a chef. i know how stressful it is though to actually manage and own a restaurant, so i understand you completely with your decision.

You'd be surprised how much goes into owning your own business. People think that working for myself would be so "cool" and "easy" but it's a lot of work and draining. It's tough. Just figured it was the right time to get out while we were ahead.

Yeah I don't think I would enjoy owning my own restaurant either unless it were the perfect situation and that definitely sounds like it wasn't the perfect situation.

Yeah, I figured that. Plus you had to watch over so many people, and make sure nothing happens there or you could get in trouble.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I never went to culinary school or anything like that. My dad taught me w/ his 30+ yrs under his belt as a Head Chef. I got lucky to get into the field w/o prior experience. I still love it, but probably only enough to do it in the comfort of my own home lol....Or if I'm guaranteed to win Master Chef
