I'd say atleast an hour, maybe a bit further. I just got to Pescadero. I'll go up the coast on 1 to Half Moon Bay. HMB you can just go 280 to 92. Pescadero I went through woodside and it's single lane and windy. I love it here though I'm not real big on beach towns but I really enjoy these two

I went out to HMB last year. Great scenic place! Loved the coastal drive. That day was actually the grand opening of the new tunnels that bypassed the Devils Slide coastal road.

What's Half Moon Bay? Like a beach or something? Or a little town?

It's a coastal city surrounded by beaches. Small town w/ a population around 11,000 people I believe... Weather is always great out there also with it always being in the 60-70's!

Where are you from again? I thought close to me. I can't say the difference between HMB and SC but I would guess SC gets more tourists and probably has a younger crowd.

Right now thinking about going to a movie but will prob pass since I has seen most of the stuff that I want to. Will see Monuments Men next weekend with family. Also got to see what kind of a scene Shia Lebouf caused. I saw the headline on MSN

Didn't realize there were a few other posts about HMB besides the last from memovieaddict. Like chef said, it's a small coastal town. I have only been up 1 past HMB twice so was not aware of a new tunel until someone mentioned it today while I was eating lunch in Pescadero. Look forward to checking it out on another trip.
Chef, do you know if you can tour Facebook or google's offices? I'm very easily entertained and would not mind visiting them if possible.

No, there are no official tours offered by those two companies. I remember reading about people who got tours of the places, but they received them by knowing employees and getting the hook ups from managers ha! Ever been to Alcatraz? I loved that tour! The boat ride ride out to the island was great and the overall feeling in the prison with all of its history was really something!

Yeah I done that tour,it was fantastic,one of the many highlights from my holiday,I love San Francisco.
