"Howard The Duck" Finally Coming To DVD March 10th

No Blu announcement.... yet.

Universal has confirmed a special edition DVD release of the notorious yet strangely beloved, George Lucas produced, 1986 box office bomb Howard the Duck for March 10, 2009. Digitally remastered and featuring new 5.1 surround sound, no DVD artwork just yet but the extras have been confirmed. This disc is going to be fairly loaded for a DVD retailed for around $14.99.

Woah, this means there are going to be a lot of folks who will need to find a new reason to exist in the DVD community. Maybe they can start hoping for a Song of the South release.

I think there was an EU DVD release a while back, after much demand from fans, just to see the awfulness of the movie.

They should have made it a Blu-ray exclusive........ it would have forced MILLIONS to make the leap to blu-ray


By the way, I'll be buying this FOR SURE on DVD, and blu-ray (if it ever comes out)

And found out, unfortunately, it's not "Ed Wood awful", it's just plain old "The Temple of Doom screenwriters got an 80's-comedy directing gig remaking ALF" awful--
Like "Best Defense", only that one doesn't have the easy Lucas-joke lure to it.

(And now we'll hear from some raving fanboys who, twenty years later, still think it really WAS George's idea...)

On a family trip when I was young we passed by them filming the part when the airplane goes through the billboard...

So, we all went and saw it, and I that is still the only part I remember.

Howard The ****ing Duck! On DVD, YES! FINALLY! I loved the movie when I was a kid and that hasn't changed! I'm so picking this up!
