As much as I enjoyed the movie, I can't disagree that Jennifer Lawrence's crying makes my ears sick.

It seemed less genuine this time. Maybe so over the top her crying seemed less genuine.

Crying is supposed to be pleasant?

I finally watched it this morning and as much as I wanted to like it, I don't really have much of an opinion on it. I didn't love it or hate it, just somewhere in between. My expectations were pretty low going in too.
I agree with the comments about them not giving us enough reasons to care for the rebels. The district scenes just didn't really do anything for me.

(If it's worth mentioning, I got an eye strain during the movie from wearing my glasses because I didn't feel like wearing my contacts today, which sort of ruined the experience for me )

Really enjoyed Mockingjay Part 1. Not as much as Catching Fire, but it's still a damn good film.

Did a full spoiler review on my podcast:

That's a good idea. You might like it better because you can see better. I have another $13 movie ticket cash yet.

3/5

Maybe that's even too high. It was quite boring for the first hour. Nothing really.happened either, so it really felt like a filler movie.

Lawrence wasnt very good, as everytime she seemd to only care about Peeta, she got real annoying. I wanted to slap her to make her wake up and see the bigger issues. She Josh had no good chemistry in the other films, so it made no sense.

Ending was dull. Movie needed more meat in the story and more than 2 seconds of Malone who rocked CF.

Easily the worst of the three thus far.

Did I lose them both? DID I LOSE THEM BOTH?

Yep, probably the worst moment of acting of the year.

This movie should have ended when
[Show spoiler]Peeta was knocked upside the head as he was attacking Katniss.

That would have been a better "cliffhanger" for the final film.

I actually expected to see the closing credits when the screen briefly went black after that shot, and I was disappointed that the movie kept going for a short while.

[Show spoiler]I don't think most people would have seen it as a cliffhanger. Because they know Katniss is alive in the second part.

President Coin also needed to deliver that speech. Plus I liked how it ended with Katniss getting out of bed. Neck brace and all to see Peeta strapped to the bed wiggling around like a mad man trying to get out as Katniss watches the man she loves. The one who btw almost choked her to death early.

Not a good movie at all. I gave it 2 stars because at least the acting was solid, especially Hoffman(who was a lot better than in Catching Fire).

The inescapable problem is that Lionsgate adapted only the first half of a mediocre book into a 2-hour film, and it was the boring half where NOTHING HAPPENS! At least if there's a payoff after that, then it doesn't feel like a complete waste of time. But forcing us to wait another year to actually see the rebellion just so the studio can gross an extra half billion off of this franchise was a horrible creative decision(even if it was a great financial move).

Something tells me in a couple years when all these movies are available on Blu-ray and fans are doing marathon viewings, this superfluous chapter will be skipped or fast-forwarded through.

I love the Hunger Games and Catching Fire as well, except for this installment. It would be kinda awesome if it bombs, just so studios wouldn't do stupid things like this again.
