It's still early yet for Divergent. With the way Shailene Woodley is on the rise like Lawrence was back in 2012 with the first HG, anything can happen when it's sequel comes out. Woodley is getting more and more roles, so perhaps Lionsgate will put more money into that franchise if it remains successful.

I thought the first was all right. As was Woodley. If not feeling a bit wooden at times.

With that im mind (and knowing that it's certainly primarily a $$ based decision from Lionsgate), as I have said in the past, I have no problems with them splitting the movie in 2 as it might have been really dense otherwise.

I even think that the book has a logical split built in which imo is

[Show spoiler]that the whole beginning of the book is Katniss learning about the resistance, rescuing Peta and becoming a Symbol, used to a degree she even feels is wrong. Then, the second part of the book which in and off itself practically makes half the book is the attack on the Capitol, and its far reaching consequences for everyone + epilogue.
