Ha. Ha. I wouldn't go that far. Plus she was only 15. And i was never really stalkerish. Or at least I don't think I was. Just go ask the fine people over at Superherohype.com about me. I'm too ashamed to even say what my name was on there.

Either way still a great number. But me better if it was $155 million. Could be the highest grossing film of the year domestically. That'll be two years in a row a film lead by a woman is the top grosser domestically.

Well, same star and same series. JLaw is her own statistical anomaly.

Quick question: Does those Samsung/Fandango movie vouchers for $13 count towards the overall box office sales? If so, that's probably why there's such a huge estimate for advanced ticket purchases.

She's a star I tell you! A star! Highest grossing star of 2014 according to Vulture.

Only if they're actually used, and only up to the purchase price. If you buy a ticket for $12, then only $12 goes to the box office count and not $13.

Thanks. Thought that would be the case. Not to take anything away from Mockingjay's impending success, but that means it's gonna make a ton of more money than it really should, since thousands of people (myself included) are going to take advantage of free movie cash for this, even though we never had to pay out of pocket for the voucher or the ticket itself, and everything will still be applied to the film's box office numbers. It was going to make significant numbers regardless, but now it should be over it's expected predictions, whatever that is.

These things are tough to gauge. Harry Potter and Twilight already showed us that when the final book is split into two movies, the box office is a little lower for the first half since casual fans will just stay away until the second half is in theaters. On the other hand, The Hunger Games series has captured a larger audience on a per film basis.

I think the opening weekend may well be a little lower than before, but it'll still smash $100m and will be the biggest opener in 2014 by far. The series has always has legs so it may well end up with another $400m domestic haul, but $350m is more likely IMO, if only for the 'part 1' syndrome as mentioned above. Is it getting an IMAX release at all? That may also affect the takings just a lil' bit.

No, Interstellar is booked for a solid month. The Hobbit 3 takes over right after.

With the mixed reviews that Interstellar is receiving, I don't understand why a whole month of IMAX is necessary for that film. Should've been 2 weeks, max. Then hand it over to Mockingjay, then The Hobbit.

Because it's the great and all mighty Nolan. That's why. But yeah, I agree. No movie should be booked for a month. I guess they're just trying to boost their profits a bit more from IMAX.

Well, if it tanks, IMAX will try to get out of the booking.
