Oh please.

It's a DIFFERENT sort of story. Give me an 'effin break. You'll get all your killing/slashing/screaming/whatever-ing in the second part. Deal with it.

If you don't understand why MJ1 was important, then you don't understand the story at all. Sorry.

And actually, as much as I understand that splitting these final books into two films is because money, HERE it totally makes sense. "Mockingjay" SHOULD be two different films.

Exactly the games are over. So I'm glad it was something different. And to say nothing happen in this movie is beyond ridiculous.

I know its all about making money but seriously they could have made it into 1 movie.

Obviously I knew what was going on.

Oh please.

It brings in a GREATER amount of money. Give me an 'effin break. That's why you got all your crying/sitting/standing/psychosising/whatever-ing in this first part. Deal with it.

If you don't understand why MJ1 was split in two (the real reason), then you don't understand the power of greed at all. Sorry.

And actually, as much as I understand that splitting these final book (and most books) into two is because of money, HERE is it even more obvious than in other films. "Mockingly" COULD'VE easily been one complete fulfilling film.

J Law poised to break Billboard Top 40 this week.

Quote:
Jennifer Lawrence may think she sounds like a "deer that's been caught in a fence" when she sings (we don't agree), but maybe that particular sound is what people are yearning for — because she's all set to hit the Billboard Top 40 with a tune from the "Mockingjay Part 1" soundtrack later this week.

On Saturday, Billboard reported that industry forecasters were predicting the Oscar winner's rendition of "The Hanging Tree," the rebel fight song featured in the film, would sell over 150,000 downloads in the U.S. for the week ending Nov. 30.

Lawrence doesn't appear in the Billboard's Top 100 for the week ending Dec. 6, but the movie's soundtrack has cracked the Top 20 and "Tree" has broken into the Top 20 in both the U.K. and Australia.

That's good to hear. I can only imagine her response to that. She's probably say everyone was crazy for liking her singing.

You go Jen!

This is the ADD generation. If an explosion isn't going off every 2 minutes, the masses will be bored to death. God forbid you actually get to know the characters or anything.

Personally, I loved it. If I hadn't read the book I would have been even more interested. You're introduced to a new cast of characters and a new sector. It did a great job of depicting the side of war many people don't see. If they had tried to make it one movie, it just wouldn't have worked. There wouldn't have been time to understand what Katniss was feeling. It would have been rushed to the finale and the characters would have been flat. For those who've read the book, Part II, as we know, will be more emotional because they've taken the time to adapt the book and characters properly.

I seriously wonder if the younger generation could even make it through a movie like The Godfather these days without crying about how boring it is.

Unfortunately, that is literally what some people say in threads for movies that were made before they were born.

I got a pretty good Black Friday haul. My buddy was in town and we watched First Blood and Scarface. Even those movies would be considered "boring" by today's standards. Kids these days are so ADD. Everything needs to be spelled out for them and they need explosions and violence to even keep them focused.

The under 18 rate it higher than any other age group.

This explains Christopher Nolan's popularity with today's youth. In Nolan's movies, characters tell us what they're going to do, self-narrate while they're doing things, and then recap everything they just did.

How many of those people have actually watched the movie from beginning to end uninterrupted? Most likely they take frequent breaks or are texting/web surfing while the movie is playing in the background.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The reason? The Hunger Games are over. Before we get more action of a different variety, we need to solidify the nature of the actual scale of said action. Flying straight into a 1 film Mockingjay with a giant civil war would have completely undermined the message about that action. The audience needed to understand that this is now far more important than simply 24 lives in the balance of a "kill or be killed" entertainment event. And this film does that superbly!

My only major complaint comes from the jarring disconnect we see between the last shot of Catching Fire and the entire Mockingjay Part 1 film. Katniss' transition from the realization of her district being wiped out to staring straight down the lens with the fire of all Hades in her eyes was so visceral as a cliffhanger shot. Then, when we next see her, she is all "boo-hoo... woah is me." I just think that there needed to be a failed attempt at releasing her unbridaled rage before seeing her in a "worn down mental patient" state. I can live with it. It was just a bit disappointing to not get any payoff for that amazing last shot of Catching Fire.

Imagine if the Matrix was completely destroyed at the end of The Matrix Reloaded, and the 3rd film was all about them fighting the machines in the real world, and Neo never entered the Matrix again to fight Smith.

Thats essentially what the Mockinjay is with no hint of the games anywhere. The whole series is internally flawed beyond saving because the author felt that a series of books has to be a trilogy in order for it to be epic. Or that 3 books makes you more money then 2.

The whole series should have ended after the 2nd book/movie. Instead its drawn out into this war thing that has nothing to do with The Hunger Games, which the books are built around. Its flawed source material, making it very obvious why so many people dont like the final book and why so many people dont like this movie.

ADD kids are the only people who dont like this? Sorry but I dont need to know more about how Katniss is feeling. I've had the whole love triangle thing, nightmares thing, love/hate relationship with Peeta shoved down my throat for the last 2 movies. Its worn out its welcome. I didnt need an entire film dedicated to emotions that have already been well developed.

Even so this third movie is not good in anyway at all. Theres no build up, no suspense. 2 hours pass and very little happens. It defies logic that sequences like the
[Show spoiler]bombing of the dam
are rushed and poorly fleshed out when the rest of the movie is so dialogue heavy. Sorry but I thought the hunger games was sort of an action movie, not a talkie.

Stop trying to defend this dreadful movie. Its a poorly written, poorly directed stretched out movie based on poor source material. Of course it was going to be awful.
