It really is.
It is irritating trying to win a "war" when your own side is shooting you in the ass.

I know that we sometimes bash amazon, too; but this does seem to parallel what happened with A BRIDGE TOO FAR and THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN. Good thing that Fox does such a wonderful job with their titles in Blu. This would have been a good Christmas title under the tree.

Well, I hope they really spruce this one up, and fix whatever bugs they found, because it is a really important title.

Better to release it the right way, than to rush it out, like some studios we know...

Fox has put out some good discs but they cancel titles way too often and their discs are a little over priced, especially when they can't even port over all the special features of the dvd versions. Oh well, one less thing to buy

Again, Amazon has a glitch in their system. People have been getting email notices stating delays when there really wasn't one...hence Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and other titles.

Until you hear differently from Fox, I doubt that it has been delayed!

I think we're 98% certain it's going to be cancelled...Fox will announce it any day now

Again, it was only a week (or two at most) that A BRIDGE TOO FAR and THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN went almost this exact same route. I know it's cutting it really close, but it's the newest technology. And nobody (except TOSH) wants to get it really wrong.

The thing is that some distributors still insist that they have received them in but as of yet nobody can seem to take a picture.

Maybe the batteries are dead in their cameras.

I'm sorry, but Fox has been a piss-poor supporter of Blu-ray; Warner, Disney, and Sony have put them to shame. Their nonsense is just too much.

I have this on pre-order from Amazon. Ordered it with two other movies. Got a shipping notice today for the two other movies, but not Independence Day. When I log in, here's what I get:

Items not yet shipped:
Shipping estimate: December 10, 2007 1 of: Independence Day [Blu-ray]
Sold by: Amazon.com, LLC

Keeping my fingers crossed that it actually does ship.

I wish you used better wording on the title of the this thread. I know I'm being picky, but if I saw "Is Independence Day Delayed?" instead, I wouldn't have panicked.

(Really looking forward to ID4).

If it's any help, BRIDGE and BRITAIN, we were later told, are tentatively rescheduled for around Father's Day, I believe it was. 'Course, I don't think we all want to wait until July 4th, 2008, for ID4.

Morton Bay would be able to call them but I don't think he has been on in a few days

In another post, elsewhere, someone said Mortonbay was a she. I know ID4 *is* serious because I'm waiting for it too, but can someone confirm if Mortonbay is a he or a she? I'm not really joking about this. (People do tend to get offended if you get their gender wrong.)
