dv8pdx, I'm looking in your direction. You know I'm a huge fan of the movie and an ultra fan of your previous Let Me In custom cover. You're all talented, who's up for it?

I actually like the regular cover art for Let Me In, but that poster could definitely become a pretty nice cover. I wouldn't mind at least seeing what somebody here could do with it.

Selling Custom Covers is very frowned upon by studios because the images and logos are copyright protected, but there are a couple versions of watchmen AND BTTF that have been around here on the site. If you look those wonderful artists may be willing to send them to you via pm if you request.

I agree with this 100%, it stinks that alot of the ones I want seem to be on pay sites like hirescovers.net & replacethecase.com. I only want a few, but I feel like a lurker if I PM the artist asking for it

I don't mind those sites at all, its the sites where anyone can post anything, and if the original artists speaks up that something was stolen and THAT person gets banned... WTF?! But anyway, that's been complained about since before I got to this thread... so I dont want to get the anger flared back up...

I either pm someone here or a lot of artists here post their work at EuphoricFX.org, which is free as long as you contribute to the site (not just artwork, but posts and feedback and such). Just don't take stuff and post it somewhere else as your own, its AWESOME. If I can't get a cover from one of those two ways, then I just don't need it, or I've got it on a list to make myself. (when I get better at it that is)

Yeah I know, a lot of those other sites have stolen covers though... If I just stay away from all of them then I know I'm not getting a stolen one!

Hey! Anyone have some good Harry potter covers? I have the year 1-6 box and wanted to expand them into "normal" cases so they don't look as ridiculous next to my deathly hallows steelbook

The Scream Trilogy cover is sweet it would actually look great if you only had a black and white printer. I like those clean designs. Also the BTTF is great as well wish I had bought it on Black Friday but didn't like the case.

What is the best printer for printing these works of art? What does everyone use and what paper stock/brand?

I'm also interested in knowing this info. Also, once that info is provided is there any special setup that's required and how well does the finish piece look?

I think this is a hobby I would like to get into as I'm not a fan of the bi-lingual cover art here in Canada; it looks far too cluttered. Also, I'm a stickler for sequels having a unified design and logo placement on the spice which I noticed doesn't happen very often.

So, I received my order from Amazon today for all of the 'Focker' movies, and I was kind of annoyed that the packaging for Little Fockers looks nothing like the first two movies. Even the spine is an entirely different design and looks almost as if they went out of their way to make it look nothing like the first two.


So, anyway, I decided to take matters into my own hands on this one.

Here's the WIP so far. It's nothing super skillful or special, really (but I just want it to match the simplistic style of the other two covers). I mainly took segments of a couple of posters from the movie and spliced them together in Photoshop, and also took a queue from the box cover from some other region that I've seen a few pics of, and started working on this so it will line up with the first two movies on the shelf.


I am wondering if anyone can help me out. If anyone owns either of the first two movies, would you be able to scan to full cover? Or, if someone already has a scan, can you send it my way?

I'm kind of 'scanner impaired' at the moment. My wife and I got a new computer last summer, and we have an older HP printer/scanner combo unit. While there were updated drivers for the printer portion to work with Windows 7, no such options seem to exist (that I have found anyway) for the scanning portion (plus the scan quality kind of sucks anyway).

I want the scan mainly to make sure the text and logos on the spine are lined up with those of the first two movies. And I also plan to redo the back of the box for this movie to match the layout of the first two. So, having the scan as a template would really help out. If anyone can help, that would be cool! Otherwise I'll do my best without it.

Anyway, the WIP is below:

I'm doing a custom criterion project for someone, and this is my latest movie. I try to go in somewhat unusual directions with these, make them a bit odd or artsy, and I chose this direction for this movie.

The back is just a placeholder image, I may not use it; I'm more interested in the front. Is it too subtle, what I'm doing?

I'm already fairly certain I'll be changing the title font.

I love the image on the front. Very cool idea. Why did you choose "1939" for the number?

As for the back image, any way you can replicate the background image from the front for the entire back?

Imrahil2001; I love the front image but agree that the back needs to be in a closer style. I don't like the title treatment, I actually really enjoy the original title treatment for the Python films.

Looks good, and the cropping is OK. You could add a box (or just text) on the right side of the back listing the discs/specs, too. And maybe a tagline along the top of the back? Or not...and just keep it simple!
