what didn't you like about it? you are probably talking about mine more than likely. if you are, take into consideration, i only make covers for fun, and if people want them, they can have them. its just something i do when i'm bored.

also, why are people still complaining about custom criterion covers? they are going to be made regardless. nobody is saying that you have to use it in your collection.

i personally only own one criterion movie ( seventh seal ), and i just like how the cover layouts look. clean and uniform. maybe its just me???

p.s. - good thing you haven't seen my Friday the 13th faux criterion covers or you might have a stroke.

anyway, i changed my Bullitt custom around so it fits regular bluray cases and its "not" a criterion cover, lol. anyone who wants it, feel free to take it, just click on the link in my signature.

Default Edge of Tomorrow - Work in Progress

This should be a good replacement for that horrid official cover art.

Default The Hobbit: Extended Editions WIP

Been working on some covers for the extended versions of the Hobbit movies. I spent almost a whole day off just making the background for the first one. These are just WIP for now. I still have to decide which pictures to use and change the bonus features for the second movie.

Default Marvel Cinematic Universe - WIP

Hi, decided to work on a Marvel Cinematic Universe Collection, mainly inspired by BasedSPACER's collection. So here is what I have so far:

Still working on the template for the back.

Looking great BasedSPACER. This is one case where custom art will be an absolute must.

Has nothing to do with your work. It's just like, people are out there creating their own fantasy Criterion Collections? Come on.. Now, that black and white "Bullitt" cover you just did would make for an incredible steelbook if you took away everything from back and just maybe used a different shot of his car to fill the back or maybe some less is more for the back, just the car alone, but keep the black and white.

i hear and understand what you are saying. i just like to mess around with different cover styles.

i did take the criterion "style" and made some Mad Max covers, but they are not criterion fakes. i called them the "Mad Max Collection". i made all three covers in this style to match. as seen here:

[Show spoiler]

but back to Bullitt. i was looking at that bottom back of the cover and i was lost on what i wanted to put in there. i was thinking a few different things, but just decided to leave it the way it was. i do love the black and white look to it though. i find it gives a real gritty feeling to the movie.

I tried, but my Photoshop skills are terrible.

I own these two BDs:

I'm sure you can understand my frustration. Why oh why not have the three Vacation movies in the same set? I switched the discs around, now I just need new covers.

Can someone please take the "Triple feature" cover and replace PT&A with Christmas Vacation (but leave the blue "triple feature" banner intact)? Also, if you can, position them in order of release date (so CV would be third instead of at the top). And do a back and spine as well.

Thanks
Someone, anyone, please?

Default Smokey and the Bandit

One of the members here, "Elvis", has a hobby of collecting posters and cleaning them up (fold lines, etc.). He mentioned he had a high quality version of original Smokey and the Bandit art and thought it would make a nice custom cover. I was intrigued so had him send me a copy. This is what I came up with...

Uploaded to EuphoricFX.org for those using that site.

EDIT: Fixed a typo and a couple of other small tweaks. Replaced the file on EuphoricFX if you already downloaded.

That's really great! I love drawn poster art from before the 90's, every cover should use it.

I'm willing to do this for you. I just have a few questions for you:

1. Are you sure you want the banner left at the top? If so, would you prefer the Blu-Ray logo be removed, since the case will have the same logo right above it?

2. Would you prefer the Vacation/European artwork that is already on there, or the original posters? Using the original posters would take a little bit longer, just so you know.

Just amazing Robert, very nice work! Best cover I have ever seen for this film. Usually nothing beats the original poster art for films!

I very much prefer original one sheet art for covers, particularly older movies where young "kids" in studio art departments have no feel for the film or sense of history. They just want a title and a picture of some recognizable cast member.

On the other hand, while searching around for elements for the back of my "Smokey" cover, I found this...

I'm kinda thinking, "Smokey and the Bandit: Gearhead Edition". Haven't decided yet. Still have to start on something for "Coogan's Bluff" from the Eastwood set released in Europe (The Beguiled was finished last night after Smokey).
