Lawrence of Arabia 4K UHD (1962)

It’ll probably be split exactly like the Japanese Mastered in 4K Blu-ray;

Disc 1 is a BD-100 and has the first 139 minutes, while Disc 2 is a BD-66 with the final 87 minutes. I think that’s how it’ll be laid out, and is the optimal way to do it. Neither disc would be pushed to its limit, allowing high bitrates like the press release says.

Glad to see these have finally made it to 4K! But my video shelves can't any more big boxes. Waiting for the eventual separate releases.

Call me ungrateful or crazy but I do wish the rest of the 2 1/2+ hour movies released in 4K would’ve had them split into 2 discs. I want the best they can look.

And to think Criterion is out here stuffing The Great Escape, along with all of its extras, on a single BD-50.

I agree in theory, especially as LOA has an intermission, but if they use a 100GB disc it should be fine.

Already a good deal at that price. That's already $103.62 for me after discounts. That's $17.26 per feature disc. Plus you get the extras.

It's going to be even cheaper when it goes on sale.

they're going cheap by only going with one disc - how they manage to squish all that onto one disc is beyond me.

That crushes the $165 that Amazon had for a preorder earlier today.

I'm hoping Best Buy has for this it too, as I'm Rewards Plus member.

Meanwhile, chill — it is very believable (likely) that there will be individual releases. There are actual things to get angry about out there in the movie world, like good films not even being on BD yet (much less UHD).

It wouldn't surprise me if there's at least some individual releases by the end of the year. I can see them making Mr. Smith and Dr. Strangelove exclusives since they probably wouldn't be the highest demand.

My money is on a Holiday release, if not a 1-year later sort of thing.

I'd love to have Lawrence on UHD, but the others meh!, so if no individual release I still won't buy
