Lee, if memory serves, you’re the guy with PMH of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma? You might want to check out if you can avoid an onsite in person office visit with your Doctor and still be covered by insurance, as per the waiver - https://www.cms.gov/newsroom/fact-sh...der-fact-sheet

And just go in person for any blood draw or imaging that’s ordered prior to said office appt., having him then go over the results with you vis-a-vis electronic communication.

Must've been pretty vicious if it wiped out more than 10 times the amount of people than actually existed....

Thank you for the suggestions P-M. I really do appreciate them. Fortunately the visit isn't for my lymphoma per se. I also have dermatitis which is a form of eczema. My doctor, on my last visit, had prescribed a different salve then I am used to using. It's a little stronger and it has been doing OK but still isn't enough. She likes to see with her own eyes my progress (or lack of). Plus once again, I am recovering from a staph infection (have had 3 in the last 2 months) which is a direct result of my lymphoma. So the in-person visit really is a must. I will wear a mask and gloves before I enter the clinic and not remove them until I got outside again. It's the price of getting old unfortunately.

Ramp up giving people the antibody test - then the majority of people can go back to living a normal life.

My wife uses Triamcinolone Acetonide and seems to work for her.

validated by Tony. And to add to that long-term outlook, I hope people have the fortitude to sustain public health guidelines like continued avid hand washing, etc. and not become lazy over time. You’ve got to be like Iceman in Top Gun.

Has it been definitively proven that you can't get it twice?

That's like saying once you've been hit by a car you have hit-and-run immunity.

We don't know if those that have recovered from mild cases or have been asymptomatic can get it a again or if they can pass it on if they're subjected to the virus again. And they're still at risk of passing the germs on to other people through contact.

It would only work if its the case that those already infected can't pass it on or get infected again and they only come into contact with similar individuals, which would mean we're talking about segregating a portion of society from the rest of the World.

At the moment we need a way for on the spot testing/results and a vaccine for those that need it the most.

Unfortunately, there's no rhyme or reason for who "needs it most." Healthy people are dying and older people are living. Some people get no symptoms and some are sick for weeks.
I have one friend who hasn't been able to test for almost 2 weeks. No other symptoms. Another friend had ALL the symptoms for 2 weeks.

There's been a handful reports of reinfection, but they were chalked up to botched initial tests...

All I know is if I had antibodies, then obviously it only affected me mildly....even if I could potentially infect others again, at least it'd give me peace of mind that I was less likely to die.

What is realistically going to happen is first responders, health care workers will all get the antibody test first. If they have the antibodies they'll be cleared to work.

Then they will move on to the public....those in essential services will be tested next, and again, if they have antibodies will be given the clear to continue working.

From there they will move to everyone else.

This is the only way we're going to get the world moving back to normal - albeit in stages - we cannot wait 12-18 months for a vaccine.

That's still a false statement. Can't speak for other countries but in Korea, they were getting ready for the virus when it was first announced. Laws were in place to expedite things to handle virus outbreaks. They has tests available in mass quantities. They even had drive thru tests and got your results in hrs. Those that were tested positive were tracked by cellphones and credit cards and you were notified through your phone if someone who were tested positive had been near you during that time.

Korea and US had positive cases around the same time. How the government handled it were completely opposite.

I was just chatting with a friend from the UK who went and got tested for the antibodies. Didn't have it yet. He was sick a couple of months ago and was hoping he had it already. Unfortunately we can't get that done here.

That’s a pity, for when Dermatology residents/fellows take their boards they’re shown a slew of macrographs to diagnose, as thee examiner can’t very well bring in a boatload of patients with different pathology.

In the future if current conditions prevail for a long time, I’d press her as to whether she would accept you or someone from your family, etc. taking a picture of your affected skin area with your smartphone and sending the pic to her - assuming coverage with the waiver as described previously.
